Journalism Camps

I'm applying for TASP, and my odds of getting in are obviusly relatively slim.
I'm very enthusiastic about journalism as a potential career, and I need a backup for this summer.
Does anyone know of any journalism programs that are prestigious and free?

J-camp and there is one at princeton

Yeah I'm still waiting for an app from J-Camp and I'm not poor enough to go to the Princeton one.

oh, i'm also waiting for an app from j-camp

bumpity bump

I think the U of M offers a really good journalism workshop in the summer, and I remember reading on other threads that there was one at Kenyon. I'll post again later if I find anything else.

J camp has applications available now.

i know i just got it but i also just found out you have to be 16 :(

It's not free...but I did a Media & Journalism summer program with LeadAmerica last summer. It was at Columbia University and it was 10 days. I believe it was around $2500.

definitely not. Thanks though.

does anyone know if j-camp accepts token white kids?

yeahh i think j camp applies to everyone...though its largely for asians. so thats something to be cautious of if and when you go.

The National High School Institute at Northwestern U is a nationally renowned program. Its journalism program is just one of several subject areas in which high school students can participate. There is NOTHING like this journalism program--check it out at northwestern.edu/nhsi.

ugh. I wish they'd show you the requirements before making you want to apply.
Any programs without a class rank requirement? I'm not in my class' top half, let alone top quarter. My GPA is over 3, though.
