Journalism program

How is Bama’s journalism program? Particularly sports related journalism. I’m basically choosing between USC-Columbia, UTK, and Bama. Does UA have student-run newspapers? Are there opportunities to get involved in internships? Is it an overall good experience? How are the professors? I’d appreciate it if anyone knows anyone who has gone through the program. Thanks and Roll Tide!

I don’t know much about journalism at Bama, but the best known student newspaper is the Crimson White: [The Crimson White ? The student news organization of the University of Alabama.](http://cw.ua.edu/)

There are student magazines that are published as well: Mosaic, JOSHUA, and others.

Bama has a TV station and two radio stations.

As for sports-journalism, Bama is completing (or has recently completed) its new Digital Media Center in North Zone of Bryant Denney Stadium.

UA is the top journalism school in the state. It is #19 in the nation in public relations, #29 in broadcast and telecommunications, #55 in general journalism, and #67 in communications and media. As an overall program, it is ranked #57 in the entire nation.

UA has an excellent journalism school. I minored in JN - they wouldn’t let us double major at the time.
I hope you are going to prepare for doing more in journalism than newspapers. IF - if -you can find a job in newspapers, you will make very little money.

I say that from long experience.
