Journalism Schools- Which should I apply to?

Ohio University (not to be confused with Ohio State University) has an excellent school of journalism!!! It’s ranked VERY highly. I would look into it if you are planning to stay in the mid-western states. It is always a top choice at my school for kids looking to major in journalism (and the one of the many reasons why my sister wants to go there!)

I wouldn’t consider Communications a BS
major, especially if you can study it at a college which has a particularly good program in it. But yes, there are plenty of people who recommend that aspiring journalists major in English, history, philosophy, or political science (a lot of famous journalists majored in one of these fields). If you do so, you can still take a few journalism classes and/or write for the college newspaper. So pick a college you really like and can afford, then major in communications, journalism, English, or whatever, and write for the college newspaper.

@moooop yes no matter what I plan on writing for the college newspaper. And yeah I would probably prefer English out of all of those options. I know communications isn’t really a BS major but I know some people perceive it that way. Thanks for the advice, though!
