Journalism Sociology and Political Science in the UC/CSU system

I was looking at numerous colleges ( With my GPA of 3.09, the choice is limited....) in California for transfer. I'd like to find a few that have excellent Journalism , Sociology and Political Science Programs. Can any of you offer any suggestions? I have considered private colleges, but am under the impression that they're out of my budget even with financial aid. (I made a vow to not use loans for college....)

Thank you.

there are no UCs with a "journalism" major, unless you will be a graduate student. Then UC Berkeley has a good journalism program, but only at the graduate level. I'm going to be a journalism major and I looked for a journalism major at UCs and couldn't find one. UC Irvine has a undergraduate major called "literary journalism." I'm not sure how good that program is or if it's even the type of journalism you're looking for. Then UC Berkeley has a good journalism program, but only at the graduate level. I don't know about CSUs though, didn't really look into them. Hope this helps. oh yea, just in case you dont want to rule out privates completely, USC has a good journalism program in either Broadcast or Print at both undergradute and graduate levels (i believe, undergrad for sure), but USC is pretty much known for hefty tuition so i dont know if it would be an option for you.
