<p>I've always been interested in pursuing a journalism major, but now with the opportunities so slim (I'm definitely interested in print/magazines), I'm thinking of public relations also...If I major in one or the other is it still possible to get jobs in both fields? Or if I double-majored in public relations/English would that help me keep my options open for both? Thanks!</p>
<p>I think your best bet would be to double major in both Public Relations and English. It keeps both doors open if you decide to pursue either journalism or public relations. Hopefully you do get the journalism career but like you said career options are slim so it’s better to have something to fall back on like public relations, where the job outlook is good.</p>
