any input on the Journalism program at UGA? I am considering UGA as an option. I am a Prospective broadcast journalism student. Also looking into meteorology. how is the program? is it worth the out-of-state tuition? Are there good internships in atl? any current students or alumni of the program? thanks

I’ll point out that I’m trying to dip out from my UGA acceptance to go to FSU. But it does have a great reputation.

what? why? just to get out of georgia?! florida state doesnt have nearly as good of a program as uga! you also get instate tuition. stick with uga imo

Seminole Productions + LA Connections >>>

only connections I’ve heard of for UGA is CNN, CNN, CNN. Not bad, but, like you said, I’m trying to ■■■■ of GA

well a big reason why i am looking at uga is because the weather channel is located in atl. what are these LA connections that you speak of?

FSU has internship programs in LA and London.

I met with UGA Broadcast Journalism Department back in the day, and I was extremely impressed with them. The director ( a guy who looks like Richard Drayfuss), was supercool, and had lots of connections, the students told me he was the toughest teacher there, but graduates get a chance for great jobs if you get his recommendation.
I would recommend you visit. then you can makr your own conclusion. Good Luck!

I’m probably gonna sign up for Grady Day, so I’ll see >_>

I wouldn’t count on the Weather Channel being in ATL forever. They sold out this year to Viacom which has made some fairly dramatic cost cutting measures.

btw, i just submitted my deposit to UGA (figure i can go FSU [or better] for grad)

alright. cool. i might see you next year then!
