Journalsim colleges

sorry this is really long! but...
Any chances at Northwestern, University of Washington, Cornell, Emory, or other top schools w/ good programs in journalism? Feel free to comment.....Thanx….

11th grade
ACT: not yet taken
SAT: 1300—will be taking SATs again and SAT II later
overall GPA from 1st semester junior year: 3.14 (no weighted grade...totally screwed up sophomore year w/ GPA, but rose from a 2.71 last year to 3.57 this semester)
CLASS RANK: top 33% of 305 in my class
(I know my GPA and rank are pretty sad, but I was hoping the SAT/ACT, scores along w/ good recs and essays would make up for it. Also, our school doesn’t weigh grades, so the top 10% of my class/4.0 students—are mainly the ones not taking any advanced classes.)

Also add Ithaca College, Emerson, Quinnipiac U. to your list for possible safeties.

University of Missouri-Columbia; University of Georgia-Athens; University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill; Syracuse University (Newhouse School); Northwestern (Medill) are among the tops. I don't know where you got your information on Emory, Cornell and UWash, but these schools are not known for their journalism programs.

But hey, if you go to Cornell, who cares, right, collegeparent? :P
