Journey to Jordan- intensive Arabic study program- selective?

I was wondering if anyone had any information about the Journey to Jordan program- it looks really interesting but does anyone have any experiences/feedbac...would it look on my apps or is it a scam?

How selective is the program?

Also, does anyone have any suggestions for any international relations, language, politcal programs that are still open, good for apps, not a scam( meaning not an exorbant amount of money) ?

I already know about he Concordia, G-town, and Brown programs

Also, what do you guys think about Georgetown summer program? Is the lack of selectivity a detterrent? Is it a good program? Is it worh spending money on that or should I do someting else?

I want a program that both excites me but is worth the time( college apps)

and yes, I know I sound like a crazy resume hog, but, ask yourself, why are you on this website? LOL.

THanks!! I appreciate any feedback!!

Journey to Jordan is reputable. One of the teachers at our HS is familiar with it. This is 7 weeks long, right?

It takes an unusual kid to want to spend 7 weeks in Jordan so I do not think the competition is a tough as it is for other amazing programs. The odds of a good applicant being accepted are higher.

I guess then I'm in luck!...maybe...the application is due tomorrow!

Thank you for your wonderful advice Midwestmom

Do you have any other suggestions for summer programs- international relations related, languages( like Arabic)...programs that are reputable and not a waste of money; somewhere you can actually learn?

I think there might still be openings at the Arabic sessions at Concordia Language Villages.

There are some here NCLRC | About Teaching | Critical Languages
but deadlines passed, I think.

See especially
Arabic - NFLC

I dont think they are still accepting applications, but the Middlebury Summer Language Schools are amazing from everything that I hear. I'm definitely going to go next summer

Concordia is still accepting applications to sessions that are not full yet.
