Can anyone tell me what kinda if school i can get into if at all. PLEASE HELP !!

Heyy,

Although you're sure to be accepted to many colleges with your current SAT score, I recommend buying some prep books and working on raising your score. This would open up many doors to you in the college admissions game.

SAT educator's often say that it is easier to bring up a lower score (450-550) than it is to bring up a higher one (700+). If you identify your weaknesses and improve on them with some focused studying, you'll be able to increase your SAT score and become a more promising applicant at colleges that may now appear unobtainable.

Also, if you omit the questions you are unsure of and focus entirely on correctly answering the questions of easy and medium difficulty levels (you're able to ascertain a question's difficulty level by noting its positioning in the section, except for questions on the critical reading passages) your score is likely to improve, without you even having to increase your accuracy.

Relax, you can get into a lot of schools. This is a college discussion forum, and only people who are very serious about college and who have high scores will post them here. I guarantee you that not even all those scores are real. You scores aren't bad at all; they're just average. Your superior academic record can make up for mediocre SAT scores. There are a lot of schools who don't emphasize the SAT or even require it. You can study for the SAT and take it again. You have a lot of options; don't be freaked out by the inflated (and often fake) SAT scores on this board.

The real question is:

How did you prepare for the SAT? If that was blind (minmal/no studying), you can raise it up 100-200 points no problem.

This was my second time taking the SAT. I took it in Dec and recieved 590math & 530verbal. I dont know if it was my nerves or me being unperpared to recieve the score i got. I took a Kaplan class during the summer and i guess I didnt study enough before the test. But thanks for the comfort, I really appreciate it.

there's a college search forum... i'm sure they can help a lot... also try the parents forum...

i feel your anxiety, I got a 1590 my first try.
i'm going to try again in October
