Judge my 1st semester classes in College. What do you guys think?

These are the classes I plan to take in my 1st year in college. What do you guys think? I have taken over 10 Dual Enrolled classes, 9 AP class (passed all exams with 3/4). My AP Calc AB/BC will give me credit for Calc 1.

General Chemistry 1 with lab -4 credit
Humanities - 3 credit
Calculus 2 / Calculus 2 for AP students (combines AB with Calc 2) - 4 credit
Physics 1 with Calculus with lab - 4 credit
First year Bio seminar (advising class for future biology) - 1 credit
Total 16 credits.

2 labs may be annoying but it isn’t that bad, you just don’t have that much wiggle room.

I think you’ll be fine. It looks like a regular schedule to me.

I’m aiming for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology major.

@larryle2 I feel like there’s too much science and math in there for your 1st semester in college. You don’t want to overload yourself with these classes. I did notice that you have a humanities class which is good, but I feel like 2 science/math classes is enough. Maybe you should do some more GE courses?

You should replace one of the science classes with either a social science class, a foreign language, or Composition, all of which will be required. Typically students take Foreign Language and English composition their first semester, plus 1 math, 1 science, and 1 more, for a total of 16 credits (17 if one is advising, first year experience, etc).

Actually, if you load up on AP’s (and add the dual enrollment in too), a good freshman schedule is all major courses / the GE’s an AP can’t cover such as public speaking. There simply aren’t many GE’s left to take >:)
Humanities classes make life miserable with essays and pointless facts thrown at you when you just want to enjoy all math, science, and engineering work.

I already have two composition courses from dual enrollment, 1 government, 1 economics, general psychology, etc
