judging programs on alumni

Thanks soozie.

I must say that I have worked with people trained in acting at Yale, Delaware, Penn State, RADA, ACT, DCTC, and a smattering of other places. I've never worked with anyone trained in acting at CMU. That's odd.

CMU's program is not THAT large (approx. 10 MT BFAs and 18 Drama BFAs per year admitted and not all stay to graduate) and so we are not talking of hordes of graduates you may have run into. But CMU is one of the TOP BFA Acting and TOP BFA in MT programs in the country. Their acceptance rate is about 2% for MT anyway.

I obviously do not have first hand experience there but have visited. My D applied there for MT and was put on the Priority Waitlist for the BFA in Acting. When younger, my daughter worked professionally in a show (a two person show) with a Broadway actress who had a BFA from CMU and she is fantastic. She is based in NYC.
