Judicial Appeal

Hi everyone,
I just got my A.A. from TCC in the spring, and I was all set to transfer to FSU. However when I applied, I applied for summer and I had a pending DUI case from November so I checked “yes” on the misdemeanor box. An admissions officer told me that I would be denied because the case was still pending, and they wanted to see sanctions to go by and then I should be ok. So I rushed to make a plea offer to quickly close my case, where I was sentenced to six months probation, and after submitting the court order to admissions, I still got denied for fall because I haven’t been on probation long enough.
I wrote a letter to appeal the decision, and I was wondering if anyone knows how common judicial appeals are?

I dual enrolled there in the spring the semester I got my A.A., and I had to do breathalyzers and meet with an officer from November all the way up until my case was closed, if that helps anything.

And yes, I know drinking and driving is very bad.

Continue to pursue admission and be encouraged. You made a mistake but you also earned our A.A. You may have a setback or two but ultimately, you will be able to complete your education. Take it from someone who did not finish college until late in life… do not allow yourself to be discouraged… just keep moving forward! If you are not able to be admitted for the fall, apply again for spring.
