what's your take on it? When you look at posts at this site, you would assume American college students are fairly intellectual, open minded and tolerant. But if you go to Juicycampus, you learn that even the most prestigious campuses can be very racist and homophobic.

Ugh, it's so awful. I hate that site. It makes my school look like a bunch of redneck backwoods jackasses. I can't believe people are actually that racist here!

juicycampus is an exemplar of the decline of american society

Never heard of it, probably won't go on it any time soon.

juicycampus is awesome. If u don't like the website dont visit it anymore

I had never heard of it until you mentioned it. I wish you hadn't because that is by far the stupidest site I have ever seen. Revolting...

Maybe that's why it have a low-degrading-unintelligent name "juicycampus"

Geez... this is my first time coming here. The posts made in this site is ridiculous. I mean, wow. Just wow.

This Mom was disgusted when I checked it out a few months ago

i LOVE juicy campus. I am able to ask who a certain person is when I do not know their name and find them on facebook to befriend them or ask them a question.

I can find out information faster than just asking people around.

Sure, juicycampus can be used for evil, but that is your own problem.

that's a bit creepy. why would you go to such great lengths to find out who someone?

Well, there is a girl who's really nice and she told me how to find her on facebook but I forgot so instead of waiting to run into her again, I just go on juicycampus.

Or I need to find someone who is in a certain class or taking a class to work on the assignment.

Or I am curious as to who that guy is who does marial arts infront of th elibrary.

etc.

I don't get it... aren't they supposed to be ANONYMOUS?

the people who post are anonymous, the subjects are anything but

It's mainly due to the anonymity of the site...Things people post in there would never be said in real life simply because they're socially unacceptable, or labels u as homophobic / racist, etc.

Other than that, I'm still in favor of having such a site because it's created for the purpose of gossip...sure people can be cruel but that's not what it's intended to be. I also found that if you're not stupid (aka ur not socially awkward, dont abuse drugs, etc) ur name is unlikely to be posted there

That would mean people that complain about the site probably saw their name on it, and are protesting about how the site promotes bad mouthing. However, more than likely, if you weren't stupid in the first place, you probably wouldn't be there o.O

I just found out that ABC News 20/20 will give a special report on JuicyCampus.com this Friday at 10 p.m. (eastern).

ABC News: Campus Gossip: Student's Horrific Ordeal

Yeah, Mika, its probably like "Juicycampus has been the source of a number of suicides"... they pull this crap with EVERY website young people use.

Anyway, I love juicy campus. I've started a trend of asking "who is this person?" and its really cool to see someone post "Who's that cute girl with the dreadlocks" and its one of my friends.

I also got some good tips as to which professors not to take and such.

I'm so glad my school doesn't have this. We are way too small and I know everyone would flock to this since we are all image-conscious and most are rich, snotty kids who grew up with sites like this such as voteforfun.com.

Well, if I want good tips on which professors I should take, that's what RateMyProfessors.com is for. =/

quitejaded, maybe your school didn't turn it into something obscene but mine certainly did. I was absolutely disgusted by it. The top threads were like "who's the biggest [s-word for loose women] at Auburn?", "who has the biggest [male genitalia]???", "who's burnin' at Auburn??" (aka who has STDs), and "white girls who date [n-word] are disgusting." I was saddened to think that apparently so many people here are racist and obscene. I hope that most of the racist posts were made by only a few people (which is what it seemed like, but you never know on there).
