So I was speaking to my RA from Pre-college...he mentioned something I thought I'd share.

He said that although the actual room and roommate info don't come in the mail until late July or later for some students...when we receive the July 1 invoice, there will be a housing charge-- that charge will specify the dorm and room type (I guess they vary?? I didn't know that). So I guess we will all know our dorm assignment in a few weeks. He said we can see the actual invoice online in our accounts-- where is that online? I looked but couldn't find that link.

This is true. Invoice will be in the SIO(linked form the hub). It happened last year. Heads up, I was in the building where they were training the new guys to give out your housing assignments, and apparently they arent budging on room selection on the basis of personal problems(unless its documented medically). So, it doesnt work. Also, the medical excuse needs to say something like “Jane needs A/C or a single because x”.

I managed to score a prime single in Welch this year!

Metal
Can you clarify the “new guys training/personal problems” comment…
Um I filled out a special housing needs form signed by my doctor to have A/C cause I have wicked allergies in the fall and spring…
I also listed Mudge, Morewood, Donnor in that order as my preferences
Am I going to get stuck in Stever b/c it has A/C…or will they let me bring an A/C and stick it in a Mudge window…?

From what I’ve been told by the housefellow of Mudge they will make a change for someone with a legitimate health concern, just not for people who are like “oh I’m antisocial and hate the sunlight/people/all good things. Put me in a single right away please.” Then again, that’s a terrible reason to give someone a room change in the first place.

Doctors Note that says this = you getting accommodations. Don’t worry about it. Honestly, they are probably just going to put you in Stever.

I know this one kid that might have failed to give a doctors note last year that ended up in the basement (window not appropriate for A/C) of mudge. He just switched with some other kid, which I am assuming they allowed just fine, otherwise he wouldn’t have been able to get in the room.

mine just says “Description: housing deposit”

This is June, not July.

sorry, it seems I lose order of the months once school ends

You sound like me.
