jumping into 20 series?

I took 14a this quarter, and I am undeclared. I believed that when I was registering for classes that I could jump into the 20 series if at a later time I decided upon a major that required it. However, I have since learned that it is improbable to do so, and that even dropping to 14 from 20 is difficult as well. so now I'd like to jump into 20b, but I am told that it's pretty much impossible. which kinda sucks. is there anyway I can petition the chem department to allow me to take 20b? I really don't want to take 20a when I have already taken 14a, because that'd be...dumb. thanks

I think you can only change series within the first three weeks of the quarter. Past that point, you can no longer do it.

you can only switch down - not up. and you wouldn't be able to take 20a anyway because you would already have credit for chem 14a which is more or less the same (but not.) does that make sense?

you cant switch down either. i think you have to take 20A. just talk to a counselor or the chem undergrad department office (somewhere in 4th floor young hall, forgot the room #).

You are only allowed to petition out of 20A if you have AP Credit. But more importantly, you cannot change the series at this point.

Talk to the Chemistry Undergraduate Counselor at Young Hall if you have further questions. It's on the fourth floor (take the stairs, first door on the left)

oops. sorry... i was thinking that the had similar policies at the math department for switching from the 31 series to the 3 series... its a good thing you guys know what you're talking about.

this is why when in doubt, take 20 series. future bruins reading this, take note.
