me too, excellent :)
There was a similar question on the barron's practice test last night, and I got it wrong the first time . .

for the subtraction one i got 16 somehow :( the answer was 120. i dont know what i was doing ... damnit

sarorah, burning glucose creates more energy... it's just not usable energy.. or at leas that's what my teacher said...

and for the woman and ovulation i put II and III, but it was completely iennie-meanie-minie-mo...

it wasn't extinct, because darwin saw the giant armadillo, which was extinct.. i dont think it was similar organisms either

aw its okay lurker, i know i got some wrong too.

another one,
Which of these does not belong with the others?
frog
alligator
snake
lizard
turtle

All of those are of the phyla reptilia except frog, which is amphibiana right?

i think it was one of them dooit. lol im not going to talk about this anymore its too depressing

For the one whith the alligator and lizard and all that I put frog because it's the only amphibian.

darn i put turtle b/c i though a ... whatever. i suck :) does anyone know how many you can get wrong and still get a 800?

ya its frog

^excellent!

LURKER, no . . listen dear, the curve is really really good. i mean, come on, MISS 5, still get an EIGHT HUNDRED?
so a good score isn't really that impossible
plus, you'd have to get at least 5 wrong (guessing) to get points taken off, and how much is taken off? .20! you need to get a whole 5 wrong to bring the +1 to 0, not even to -1. that's really really lenient if you think about it.

lol my dad and i discussed this on the way home, i felt bad too, but it brings up your confidence after realizing that. american tests are favored toward the student . .in britain, you get one wrong and its a WHOLE POINT OFF baby, and there's no such thing as all m/c . . be POSITIVE =)

Correct = 1 Pt
Incorrect = -1.25 Pts

-.-

I know the answers to these might have been really obvious, but I wasn't sure...

For questions like 13-16ish with the whole chromosone karyotype, what did you guys say?

I put 48 for somatic, 24 for gametes, 24 given from mother, and 25 for the trisomy... but I was really unsure.

lol no, it's only a fraction of a point off for one wrong answer.

Correct = 1 point
Incorrect = -.20

Need to get 5 incorrect to negate the correct. :)

trisomy is 25 +24 since it said zygote which wouldmean that its not a gamete

oh **** i got that question too, ive never seen it before on the review book or any quesitons relating to it

but i got the same as you oath...

edit: lurker, i'm pretty sure the q said which one of the following numbers in a gamete would pair up with a normal gamete to form a trisomy.. so its 25

for the trisomy, i changed from 25 to 49 cuz i realized they said the fused gametes

Goddamn these College Board people..

you mean zygote .. since gamete is a spermy or an egg :P

err yeah zygote lol
wait lets see what others put, but I'm pretty sure they said fused . . i'll be really angry if I misread it

they did say GAMETE which is haploid -,-

edit: ya fusing with the other normal gamete!!! damn reading -.-
