June 2006 - Physics

Ya, but a 700 is like a 63rd percentile... and the average score on this test is a 660.... too many physics buffs out there taking the test and not enough regular people....

is there anyone who skipped more than 11?
God.. cancel or not...that is the question

What kinda score you lookin for ^^^?

I skipped 21 questions. Give me that 730 baybee

i skipped 18

skiped 12, not aiming for harvard or UPenn so if i can get that low%tile 700 i would be happy

For serious.

I skipped 1, but I already got the convection qusetion wrong, and the V/d question.

Umm, what was the capicitor question? Was it CV/d? Because I tots guessed on that. Oh well. There's always October. ^^

Skipped 3 or 4, but then again that just sets me up to potentially get a lot of -1/4s....

I thought it was just derived from the V=Ed expression so that E = V/d

it's E= V/D.... the candle question I put convection + radiation because convection occurs in gas too. It's DEFINITELY the insect.

I'll be pleased withmyself for a 750.
But I don't think that's low enough.

Maybe a 700? T_T

750 = 82%tile

but isn't anything above 80th %tile counted as good also?

god.. I should've put insect.. damn it
thought it was a trick question or something

So far....only that damn insect qn's confirmed wrong. +6 guessing +4 careless = 61. I'm really hoping for PR's curve.

btw. if you want further clarification about the fractal problem, this was posted on College Confidential in 2004...

http://www.collegeconfidential.com/cgi-bin/discus/show.cgi?69/82808

"I actually found it fairly easy, almost easier than in practice (I think there were more mechanics questions). I was just surprised when there was a question on relativity, and had to stop and think it through. There was also a question dealing with fractals, and only a few days earlier I had read a book on fractal geometry. It was pretty easy though: Which is not a fractal: broccoli, an insect, cracks in the dirt, blood vessels in the lung."

"I'm actually going to study some astrophysics, quantum mechanics, and relativity just to be sure on that one, but fractals would have never crossed my mind! I'm guessing that the answer is insect? Because you won't find another insect inside itself."

" Yep, it was insect...."

It wasn't CV/d? And didn't the slit thing say increse the size of the slit?

what did you guys get for the very last question? the one on the acceleration of gravity between the earth and the moon.

god.. I hate ETS! repeating same questions..so unfair

3600/1

10 chars
