June 2006 - US History

Very happy I think I got an 800 even with retarded mistakes ( I missed the cult of dom. question....grrrr).

I got deregulation of business and industry for the supply side one. Just thought back to great depressiong and what happened when they didn't regulate business.
Do you guys know the other two choices for the kansas nebraska q?

what were the other choices for the question about what did the U.S. do post WWII (answer is to give independence to Phillippines)?

annex hawaii, purchase alaska, possibly something with puerto rico? Dont kno the others.

^ i seem to remember it as an except question? probably not though

yeah i missed the cult of domesticity one too...bc i swear i saw a guy in there...

The point was that the women were all at home and not out working.

i think for the seventy's economic one it is social security. and also does anybody remember the other choices about what was aimed at hurting the soviet unions communist chances. and also the question where it said what was the soviet union's greatest asset i think it is about the lend-lease aid it got from America

I don't think its social security, because it was still costing money (regardless if there were as many old people at that point) and thus contributing to the deficits.

what were the other choices for the question about what did the U.S. do post WWII (answer is to give independence to Phillippines)?

statehood for alaska, annexation of hawaii, i forget waht else

^was it an EXCEPT question?

yes but social security wasn't a big problem because the baby boomers hadn't reached adulthood..
and the question about what did U.S. do anti-imperialistic is definitely give phillipines its independence i'm a 1000% sure about it
but what did you think about what i said about it being lend-lease aid that made the russians powerful

I have to say I'm pretty worried about the US History Exam. I expected it to be broader and focus more on the periods than the AP Exam. I studied for this in addition to my Biology Exam and I think I missed as much as I usually do on practice AP Exams(wild guess to accomodate for all mistakes-25) . I skipped 6. Does that at least put me in the high 600's range? Does anyone have a rough estimate of the curve..how many can you miss before points start being deducted ..which raw scores indicate certain scale scores?

the answer to the question about inflation during the american revolution was that the government depreciated the money supply to ease the task of paying back war debts. the spectators answer was the converse of true. (<a href="http://www.mises.org/story/1273)%5B/url%5D">http://www.mises.org/story/1273)</a>.

in response to anti-imperialism, the us gave the philippines its independence in july of 1946. alaska and hawaii weren’t admitted until 1959 and the others were stupid.

the answer about the 1970s was healthcare costs. These costs rose AS A RESULT of inflation, but never noticeably contributed to the deficit until the 80s and 90s. (<a href="http://www.leftbusinessobserver.com/Paying-for-health.html%5B/url%5D">http://www.leftbusinessobserver.com/Paying-for-health.html</a>)</p>

thank you for clearing that up but i think the army answer for the russians power after world war 2 is wrong because the russian army took more losses than all the rest of the allied powers combined for some reason i remember that little tid bit

So the answer for that one question was soldiers over speculators?

Some question- Answer was federal funding not given to improve inner cities.

What was that question asking?

no, the answer for the currency one was something about how the government needed the money to be worth less to pay back war debts. that was an entirely different choice than spectators and soldiers (e? maybe).

For 63, i put something about how the government never made improvements for preventing fire hazards. it seemed to me like the one about no funding for the inner cities was a more general answer. we know that both fire hazards and inner cities cant be correct, but both involve funding inner city improvements, so i put fire hazards because logistically inner city funding would have to occur in other areas besides fire safety? does that make sense? i probably got it wrong anyway.

Triangle Shirtwaist fire led to fire hazard regulation around that time period, so I'm almost certain that you're wrong.

Fanatic, your explanation makes no sense. Why would the government want the money to be worth LESS in order to pay back debts? Wouldn't they want it to be worth more? I'm pretty positive the answer is speculators. I have a quote that supports it. Also, does anyone remember the exact wording of the question ?
