June 2006 - World History

Hey, just took the test, and it was kind of difficult, but I think I got a 720 or around there.

What was the question that was like: the difference between north american and central and south american indian groups?

I put that south american indian groups had a strong central government!?

more centralization... be careful not to break rules and wait until later today to discuss questions in detail unless you want to risk it

Umm you can't do that because West Coast kids could read this and BAM you die because your scores are cancelled.

i got owned by this test... omg...

yah i think i got in the 650 range (more if im lucky), but now i regret not being more serious about studying for it.

i think ill retake it in october if i dont get 680 or higher

I didnt study at all and hadnt taken global since grade 9 but since im a history buff I think i cleared 650 which was my goal so i would get some credit

yeah its after noon so... which were the two cities on the silk road i picked the first two (A) because i knew one of them was on the road.. i shouldve left it blank though i didnt omit any cause im too confident in my guesses on tests like this :)

Shouldn't you wait 'till like 5:00? What about them alaskans.

You realize that Alaska is only GMT -9 lol not -18, the rule is 12pm EST im posistive

wow i totally got f***ed over by the world history test....
and it's almost 12:30 EST rite now....so r we allowed to discuss it then?

Yes we've been allowed for a little while now

for the city that had turks, greeks, jews, and amernians in the 1400s was that istanbul, cairo, or kiev?

i think i got 680.

I put Istanbul because it was in the middle of the Ottoman Empire, which was very big.

The south american vs. north american question was weird because the only choice that made sense was that they had centralized govn't, and the Incas and Aztecs had advanced technology.

Question:
The picture of the Gandhesan Buddha thing had Indian and what other element?

I put Chinese!?

i put china too. mahayana buddhism.

crap. i was wrong. gandharan = indian + persian + mesopotamian culture.

what about that question with the arc thingy and asking what purpose it served in rome?

This thing pwned my arse so bad.

Decided on Istanbul.. I knew Kiev was a center of trade during the viking period but wasnt prominent after that.. Cairo was too far away i thought for Armenians so I went with Istanpul.

I knew the Ganharan was Arab influence but I put China cause I couldnt find a better choice damnit, i must have missed the mesopotamian culture...

It wasnt centralized government it was the Central and South were centralized in population centers thats what they meant it made sense

what about that question that was like what's true of sub-saharan iron-smelting cultures in africa before 1000? i chose that iron developed before agricultre.

I can't remember the exact question, but there was one out-of-the-blue question towards the middle/end about the U.S. and another country that formed an organization or group that was involved with fruit?
I put U.S. and Argentina.....anyone know the answer?

ohyeah and there were like 2 questions about argentina or something. like, did they sell bananas and oranges to the u.s. and did the u.s. fruit company mainly operate in argentina?

yah. after checking, i think its argentina.

i think i might have skipped the iron-smelting cultures question
