Awesome.

Sure? The two questions were related: Romans didn't wanna anger people, so why conquer them and enslave them?

And besides, all those old movies like Ben Hur, Quo Vadis, and Spartacus really affect my perception of Romans.

<a href="http://www.classicsunveiled.com/romel/html/slavery.html%5B/url%5D">http://www.classicsunveiled.com/romel/html/slavery.html</a></p>

That supports that Roman slaves were war captives. I'm looking for info on the consolidating power in conquered areas...

civitatem do - (Latin) To give citizenship, to enfranchise; in the process of Romanization, the Romans would give citizenship to the elite of a newly conquered area, thereby ensuring that the elite would feel more connected to the Roman Empire.
(<a href="http://ablemedia.com/ctcweb/glossary/glossaryc.html%5B/url%5D">http://ablemedia.com/ctcweb/glossary/glossaryc.html</a>)</p>

I don't know if this was the principal method of Roman power consolidation though...

Aight, seems like it. Civil suits went out the window, I just read the jus civile and it states something along the lines that slaves are property and have no rights.

5 wrong.

Yay, got the consolidation of power choice right.

so far i have 6 wrong and 1 omit
bring up more questions!

damn lucky guessing... :)

wasn't there a question on japan and industrialization or something???

My questions:
1. Why did the chinese send zheng he on the journeys? I think i put to show the power of the chinese.
2. The picture of the roman arch? I think I also put something like showing the power of the roman emperor.
3. The Han dynasty did what? Built great wall to protect against barbarians?
Bad memory..., cant remember anything else.

I put the same answers as you odin. :) ...what was the one about absolutism, whose answers were all the names of kings...i put louis IX of france...and the one with the picture of that idian dude, I thought it was greek as well, cause thats what it looked like, and i thought it made sense, cause they conquered northern india, and the indians took on a lot of the greek art forms.

Im pretty sure it wasnt the nile. i think i rememeber reading that the desert surrounding it helped them kik ass. Also, the nile would be easy to travel down any time of the year, except for annual flood. In that way, the nile's predictability would make it vunerable.

anyways, that was my logic.

Was the Han...

civil service
monopoly on silk?

its kipling cuz he was racist and therefore talked about "the white mans burden".
ARRRGGGGG -- i forget whether i skipped it or not! this test its the most frustrating thing!! im so border line. is anyone canceling their scores?

tm2000, i'm borderline too. ~12-13 questions wrong. I'm not canceling.

the egypt stability question sounds really subjective to me...

anybody remember the question on japanese and industrialization, with one of the choices being resources or something?

VanillaExtract...I think I skipped that question.

Yeah, I'm borderline,too. I'm not sure how many I missed, but I think I missed over 3, and I know I skipped 9 questions.

resources was the answer. it was EXCEPT.

What do you guys mean by borderline? I omitted 2-3 and got around 10-11 wrong so far. Is that good enough for at least a 700?

On the SATII December test, one could miss 10 or 12?? and still get an 800. That is what we mean by borderline..or atleast I think it is...Personally, all I want is a 700+.

yeah taht's almost an 800.

what was the map w/ all the arrows supposed to represent?
