does anyone remember if one of the choices was 16+16pi for the ice rink one? I think i might have accidentally doubled the diameter, but im not sure.

it was 16+8pi i think

5 away from -3.
16 + 8pi

yeah it was -3

I remember that now

so the answer was 8 lines of symmetry…wut a dumb question to miss lol

@RP
OMG I know
I rushed and counted 16 but I forgot to realize half of them overlapped

shakes head in dismay

what was the answer to the very first question on the test

yes i know that it was 16+8pi that was the correct answer, i am wondering whether 16+16pi was one of the choices cause i might have picked that one accidentally

what was the question?
what diameter did they give you

16 + 16pi was an answer choice, but a wrong one.

A track, consisting of 1 rectangles and 2 semicircles (which is really just one circle). Radius = 2? or something like that.

nah it gave you the side of the square which was 8 and it was the diameter of the circle. i think i accidentally mistaked it for the radius and x it by 2 and got the wrong answer…

Guessed about 6 on this section. Figured it would probably be that way though. There’s always a math concept or two I can’t get.

For the 1:3 one (also had “not enough info to figure out”), how would you know that the triangles are all equal? That is, there are four of the “diamonds”, but that is assuming the sections are all congruent, which may not be the case since the whole figure was a rectangle.

for the circle one with clockwise/counterclockwise…
i thought that c was counterclockwise not clockwise-- i definitely checked that one multiple times
ADCB

@shla

I also out ADCB but I rushed through it and assumed everything was counterclockwise but apparently many ppl say that like 2 of them were clockwise (which would make it ACDB)

and can someone explain how they did the one with an answer of “3:1”

hey i just remembered one, 920 sheets of paper or something

60 sheets a min for 8 mins and the 80 sheets a minute for 6 minutes? something like that

how does the scoring work for this? this was my first time taking it- is it always 1 wrong, 1 point off? for example if you got two questions wrong do you always get a 34, or is there a curve?

there is a curve so it depends

-1 can equal 36, 35, or 34

i’m pretty sure the answer is ACDB

B was two units counterclockwise away from
C is 5 units clock wise away from A
D is 7 units clockwise away from A

They asked you for the order if you started from A going clock wise, I believe

yeah i guess you’re right about that-- oops, already two wrong: that one and the 1:3 one.
I’ll probably take it again in the fall since math was supposed to be my strongpoint.
