June 2009 ACT Science Discussion

Good luck everyone! Post all discussion related to the June 2009 ACT Science Section here.

Easy this time. I thought.

clouds…***.

Yeah, it was definitely better than April.

I thought the time got really tight. The only one that went right over my head was the last

hmmm, did the stars became whatever whatever at the same time?

i didnt put the same time

DD says no.

The last one…about the hearing and sound maxing out at whatever decibels, was hard and really difficult to understand- i knew 2 and then just filled in the other 4. I thought the science section got so tight because every single graph was a thinker with a lot of information u had to sort through

No, becuase first was larger

Regarding the time it took for the stars to become whatever…I do not remember exactly what the question was but the answer was either star A or star B. One of the students said B was bigger and one said it was smaller intially so ya depended on which kid it asked about.

Test was shorter. At least two of the described experiments were directly from the college Board’s recommended AP Chem curriculum; if you took an AP class with rigorous labs, you knew the experiments and questions cold.

Dave Matthews,

DD is reading over my shoulder and agrees with you about the time crunch and graph detail. Sounds unanimous that the ear question was the hardest.

Only helpful if your school offers AP Chem.

ear wasnt as bad as some of you ppl were making it out to be…i mean it was just a graph

Thought it was easy except for the star passage. That one was very confusing - I had to read it over a bunch of times.

The last question on hearing… Yes/No and Constant/Not constant?

It was easy except I didn’t finish

Yup yup. toadstool, i agree 100%. I’m doing AP Chem next year (senior), but I had a really good Honors chem teacher my sophomore yr and we did that titration lab and one of the others word for word

This one was actually a little more tough than April I think. Just because I felt more pressed for time. But, then again, I felt like that on April and did well. It wasn’t to bad though.

were the last 5 questions like
f
a
h
a
f

there was definitely a “C” in there
