June 2009 SAT Critical Reading

Professor attitude- I put arrogant. It said something that made me think that like 2 sentenses previously

I didn’t choose ire.

Caps= poke fun gently I think

The dragon rocket one was its domineering manner i think.

And I’m really sure the CAPITOLS was not to poke fun at. There was no evidence at all. And if you read the sentence with the capitols, you could see the contradiciton.

(Travel the Modern Way -----Travel in Our Own Way) (or something close to it)

You can see its a contradiction b/c Traveling in the Modern Way does not support Traveling Our Own Way (own way won’t have restricitions on traveling in only a modern way, the RV)

nah, it wasn’t ire i dont think. forgot what it was but the word ire stuck in my mind

what were some SC answers

vehemence and ire for one of the SC answers

Mechanical Done as if by a machine; uninfluenced by will or emotion; proceeding automatically, or by habit, without special intention or reflection; as, mechanical singing; mechanical verses; mechanical service.

automatic and regulated?

alum-professor is absolutely perturbed, how are they arrogant? they just complained abt the student’s behacior

and could anyone tell me what is rhe question for state form??

John, i said unintentional for the shock. I mean its random right?

Pragmatic means practical. The passage said people liked edison and franklin because they used their intelligence and applied it to real world stuff or whatever. It’s definitely pragmatic.

so mechianical = physical? yes or no? its def. not automated because it was random waves…

it was either phgysical or something with coincidental in the answer.

and what was the rocks one?

maybe it was inconsistency and not humor…i went too fast =(.

Esplin-

I will concede I did note that when I read it. However, he did not do so “sarcastically.” Additionally, pokes fun at is not as extreme and just seems like a CB answer.

didn’t have vehemence and ire for one of the SC answers and I knew almost every word except protean

does anyone remember the short passage questions?

we should compile a list of the CR questions.

was something like engagement??

so whats the final answer on mechainical?

and no one has answered

what was the point of “so do the rocks” sentence?

The passage with the water and rocks almost put me to sleep.
Seriously like ***? It was so boring! But the multiple choice was alright
I skipped 3 on that passage.
OMG the one with then AfroAmerican bookworm was pretty damn hard.
I said the intellectual guys (Ben Franklin, Edison) were pragmatic =D

waves are automatic and regulated by nature, was my reasoning.

i wouldn’t say unintentional as the process is like expected to happen by nature.

i was toying with answering physical, but then i thought of a watch being “mechanical” and kind of did a comparison between breaking down rock and a watch in my head (maybe i’ve been at the beach too much this break, though)

tbonus-
engagement=involvement

for “expression of need”

do u mean “intensity of need”?

and also I dont remember ire or vehenmance

so the rocks passage?

what was the point of introducing the rocks?
