June 2009 SAT Critical Reading

show something about the force of water

does anyone remember the short passage questions and their answers?

we should compile a list of the CR questions.

any other choices for the unintentional/automatic and regulated question? I definitely didn’t put automatic and regulated cause waves are just the opposite of that. I don’t know if I put unintentional or not.

^another one missed for me.

the other answer was mechanical=physical, which is what i put, which isnt sounding really good right now since no one else put that.

i put vehemance and ire
this maybe experimental though
it had to be this because the question blanks needed 2 words with same meaning and these were matching and they had to mean “anger”

smarts1: compilation from some other CC poster copied and pasted below

alstair interconnected genes
scientific inclined
dramatic then anticlimax
enigmatic
biased
mechanical = physic
distressed/opposed
convivial
expectation and reality
tropical ocean
direct quotes
more historical
expression/intensity of need
perturbed
attitude toward students
impassioned
eating nutrients
dailiness everyday
state form
edison practical intelligence
prestigious endorsement
astonishingly friendly and fluid
obsolescence (still not definite)

Ok here was one I thought was crazy hard…
on the short paragraph questions on the one regarding blogs, did you guys get they are more democratic or they spawn new ideas

I sad more democratic because the passage said that blogs were more egalitarian

I put mechanical = physical

yea i got that immortalix.

does anyone remember putting an answer down for the SC with two blanks… i dont think vehemence & ire was the correct answer for this one.

yea I said more democratic too!! Hehe maybe I got one right.

I reallly hope its physical because the waves are not regulated…and its not coincidental because mechanical =/ coincidental in any sense…

I also hope (probalby not) volcanoes was right…but everyone says its tropical climate because it said old volcano (with apparelntly implies no water…)

yea i said more democratic rtgrove.

rtgrove-
thats democratic I think. first, democratic, is a process of exchanging ideas among leaders and citizens, just like the 1st article has mentioned the comments part on the blog
article 2 didnt mention the comments or something else

i remember the vehemence and ire one. it wasn’t experimental (i had math experimental). i know it was wrong but i don’t remember the right answer…

immoraltix:
are you sure about the scientifically oriented one?
i put obsolescence…for the nasa one right?

vehemence and ire …i do not think i have met these two word…

I put whatever & equanimity (answer choice: E), but I wasn’t sure. It was about a guy like… “arousing” a group’s ______ and keeping calm and keeping their _______.

Vehement and ire were choice A, i was debating w/ that.

On SC there was one regarding Black art…was it negliect…essential

was vehemence the correct answer?

umm turtle, im really sure it was vehemence and ire. That was the only choice with words that had agreement with each other
