June 2009 SAT INTERNATIONAL

i think this q might have tripped up a few people
i ALMOST made the mistake and then came back to fix it

“out of the people who had plumbers recommended , what fraction actually chose them”

originally i had y / (x+y+z) … and then i realized it said OUT Of the people who had plumbers recommended … therefore the answer was y / (Y+z)

Yeah I got that. It was a tricky one, had to read the question carefully.

Yeah, I got y/(y+z) too.

I seem to have made both the mistakes I’m aware of in the same section (the grid-in one). Pity that it won’t be the experimental one…

Frig, I misread the y/y+z question…I found the critical reading okay, but the lawyer passages were annoying.

For that question, #8 right before the grid-in…it was like, if y is proportionate to x, then what is x in terms of y, what did you guys get? I wrote 4x but I’m not totally sure about it.

Aaaa damn I got this x z y wrong ;[[ nvm ,hoping this will be my only error and -1 will be 800,at least 790 ;(

What about the questions involving cars ? I got two A`s

i put 4x too
i dont think the rest were “directly proportional”
i.e the x2… was exponential… there was one which was 4/x… etc etc

xShadow63 ,
4x of course.If x = 1 ,y = 4 ,x = 2 ,y= 8, x = 3 y = 24 and so long ;)

Yeah, I don’t know why, but that question was giving me trouble. It’s so obvious once you think about it.

What about the cars ?
I got two A`s …

What was the question with the cars again? I don’t really remember it…

paints and percents  I think they were questions 15 and 16 .

Ohhh the one about what percent of the total cars are white? I think I got 10% for one…I don’t remember what I got for the other one.

I dunno what it was but it felt like time kept on running out so fast for the math sections. I guess it was just a little hard.

What did you get for the one that was like y = -1/4x + 5, the perpendicular of that function, and the points (a, 3) and (4, c) were on that line. And it asked for a-c.

I think I got 19…

I am so much hoping for a -1 = 800 ;)

hey i have a few questions

what was the one where she had m dollars, gained k, and the lost w… which equaled (m-20)… what u could figure out was (k-w) right?

also what about the 2 circles which overlapped… each had an area of 25… and the area they overlapped was 12? i think… i got 38 (i know its an easy grid in question but i was just confused)

and for the reading… the law passage… the last lines were derisive and laudatory right?.. cause like almost all the choices fit for the first passage… but only 1 fit for the second one i think

shadow i think ur confusing a question
i think it said … what is a in terms of c

and the answer was like -4a+19
cause a = -0.5

k-w = correct
38 = correct

What about the one with the sum of the first 10 positive integers being s ;what ,in terms of s ,is the sum of the first 20 pos .integers ?
s=55, the sum of the first 20 integers was 210 ,so 2s+100 ?

LOL oh crap yeah what the hell was I thinking of…I remembered there was a 19 in my answer because I did that question literally in the last 15 seconds of the section.

Yeah, 2s+100. That’s what I got too.

For the question with the overlapping circles. It asked for what the area of the shaded region was, didn’t it? And the whole goddamn thing was shaded. I was so confused about that.

Edit: Yeah, pakalypse it was derisive and laudatory. Nothing else worked out.

haha SAMEE lol ^^

so does anyone know about that derisive/laudatory one?

honestly though
i now i may be judging bit early… but i think i did good… (inshallah, god willing) lol … but yeah like… it makes me happy to know that… the first kaplan sat practice test i got like 1800 on now… and then on teh dec. sat i got 1990…and now… after like… friggin MONTHS of practice i think i may have broken the 2200 barrier :D

it probably doesnt seem like much to most of u… but i think that was the most dedicated to something ive ever been :p

It wasnt the whole thing shaded man  Just the middle and I think it was given to be 12 .I finally got 38 but forgot what was asked. The other question with overlapping regions was in section 9.I think it was 10pi
