I want to get a 30-34
I would jump for joy…perhaps go parachuting lol

christi: I moved up about 2 points in two areas, 1 in another, and stayed the same for the last and I got a composite score of plus one. Maybe some people are capable of going from 29 to 33 or something similar, but I don’t think most are.

Sci - 28
Math - 36
Reading - 33
English/Writing - 34
Essay - 11

Composite: 33

wow, if I only got 32+ on Science I could’ve made a 34, and higher a 35.
Anyone know what the best prep for the Science section is?

^ I’m in the exact same position as you pretty much w/ regards to science and the other sections… just do lots of practice sections (they’re pretty easy to find online, but you should also get the official, red ACT book if you don’t have it already). Read the italicized intro first, then go back to the questions and complete answers based on graphs/data. For the experiments & “fighting scientists” sections, read everything first, then answer the questions. I’m so nervous for the science section! I always have extra time on the other tests but can’t seem to finish with science…

I took it in March,
Science- 27
Math- 29
English/Writing- 29
Reading- 35
Essay - 11
Composite: 30

I really want a 34, and still am having trouble understanding why I did so poorly on science and the english section. Why do they even call it a science section when it is basically just graph analysis? How are other people studying for this weekend? I really want this to be the last time I take the ACT, but I also don’t want to go out and buy the prep books. I got those for my AP’s and felt that they didn’t help at all!

I’m shooting for a 29 on this bad boy. I got a 25 in April. :-/

Not many will believe me here, but I’m 100% serious when I say we didn’t get the full 45 minutes for English. He must have mixed up a :11 and :19 on the clock. Thus we only got 38 and my english suffered.

I’ve been studying very hard and it looks like I’ll get something like this:
English: 27-29
Reading: 29-32
Math: 25-27
Science: 28-30

When do test scores come out?

June 24, 2009

I really want a 33-34 in June!

What? We find out our test scores that early?? 2 weeks?

Yeah, from the April exam they were posted about two weeks after online. And then about 2 more weeks after that they send the scores in the mail.

The June act was horribly placed in my schedule. I had the SAT II’s last Saturday and then a whole week of finals, then the ACT.=/

Yeah, coming off of 6 AP’s and 3 SAT’s last week. I think I’ll probably fall asleep in the middle.

My current scores are:

Composite - 33
English - 33
Math - 35
Reading - 36
Science - 27 (I know . . . I had horrific time issues—spent too much time reading the passage—but I just took a timed practice test and got a 35 on the science section so I think I’m set)
Essay - 8
Combined English/Writing - 30

My goal is:

Composite - 35
English - 34
Math - 35-36
Reading - 36
Science - 35-36
Essay - 11
Combined English/Writing - 34? (I have no idea how this is calculated)

my goal:

math – 36
science – 36
english – 35
reading – 35
essay – 12
(composite 36)

lol… in my dreams. i’m aiming for a 36 (shoot for me moon! and land among the stars!), but i’d be ecstatic with a 35.

36 FTW

(10 char)

My goal is a 36. Why would I aspire for anything less than perfect? :-P

Dangit I have to sit through this tomorrow…I got a 30 the first time. Ill get a 32 this time.

Is it true that the only sections you can study for are English and Math? Science is just about time management and reading and writing you can’t study for right?

Eh. I think you can practice for science, reading, and writing.
