June 2010 ACT Results

Some people are reporting that they already received their scores via snail mail. If you look at the thread for the February 2010 ACT, the same thing was happening for some people.

The majority of us will receive our scores at 1 AM Eastern time this Sunday.

Good luck!

Maybe I’ll be lucky and be one if the few that got it! Lol. I’m soooo nervous! I knew I was going to do bad on the sat-- which I did. So, hopefully my ACT score is good-- I had confidence! It was easy, so let’s see if I did good :).

I have a 2200 SAT as a backup, but I know that I did well on this test.

I started to bubble my math questions on my reading and so when I fixed it, I forgot the erase it… -.- my math and writing were good, but got a 440 on reading because I bubbled in 13 questions more -.-. Worst luck; I swear…

I don’t understand why people post their scores on here because the ONLY people who do are the people who get 30 +. I just don’t think anyone cares to see people posting their score if it’s only that. I mean who is going to post a score of like 20?nobody. So what’s the point of being like “Ohhh i got a 34.” it’s pointless. You’re practically competing online like it’s a competition. This is coming from someone who got a 27 the first time I took it.

It’s not a competition. It’s an attempt to determine the curve and provide important data for those who are taking the test in coming years. Don’t be so selfish.

^ And to show off your hard work/intellect. Let’s be serious. I’m not saying it’s a bad thing…

I got a score in the 20s last time i took it. Hopefully my score will start with a 3 this time. If it does, then I’ll be jumping for joy:)

Of course, but I’ve never seen it as a competition.

does a composite of say 30.5 round up to 31?

Yes. Obey proper rounding rules.

Thought I’d post to give a humble analysis for those eager to get scores back.

I received the June ACT results in the mail today (without writing) and got:

Composite: 35 (technically 34.5 but it rounds up as mentioned above)

English: 35
Math: 34
Reading: 33
Science: 36

My initial impression after taking the test was that this June ACT was easier than the previous one I had taken (in March). I cannot attest as to whether there is a curve on the English section; is it normal for that to occur? It seemed easy, but perhaps that was because I had also recently taken the SAT. It’s possible that the math section had some sort of curve, as my subscores were 16 / 17 / 18 for Pre-Algebra, Algebra, and Geometry/Trig, respectively. -3 being a 34 seems a bit generous given the testimonies in the curve prediction thread though. On the reading section, I think there may have been a +1 curve, as my subscores of 17 / 17 seem to imply a -3. I wouldn’t expect that the science section would have a curve, as the June edition was based more off of monotonous analysis of graphs rather than critical thinking based off of prior science knowledge.

My experiences are compared to the first ACT I took in March, which I recieved a 32 composite on. Honestly I was not expecting a 35; I think many will be in for a pleasant surprise!

^^good job!!!

Gahh. I’m gonna shoot myself if I get another 25.

@Tandem

First and foremost, congratulations on your score. Secondly, thank you very much for posting your score - it allows the rest of us to receive valuable information about the curves and what we can expect from our scores in a couple of days.

Here’s my analysis of the curve:

English: 0 (-1 is always a 35)
Math: +1 (-1 must be a 36)
Reading: You got a 33 with 3 wrong? Are you sure? I thought there would be a +1 or even a +2 curve.
Science: No curve

^ That means there is no curve for reading if it’s a 33 for -3 wrong… And that’s means the curve is even worse than normal…

And aren’t we curved by region/geographically?

^ That’s what I’m seeing, but the guy who posted his scores said that reading was +1.

We need some clarification.

^ Well, I’m on the West Coast, so I don’t think I’m affected by this curve…

What are you talking about? There’s one curve.

I heard on here that there are separate curves for different geographic regions, but they might be wrong…
