Hey guys 1st time taking act…which is better 2190/1420 sat or 31 act (very good on subjects i’m interested in)

I would go with your SAT.

OMG

E: 34
M: 30
R: 31
S: 33!!!

Composite: 32!!!

Thank you God!

composite: 31
english: 35
reading: 35
science: 30
math: 25

I’m a little disappointed (I wanted a 32). I’m not very happy with my math, but i honestly found it difficult. It was my first time taking it.
My SAT is a 1360/2050. Which one is considered “better”?

Your act is considered slightly better.

I took the test solely for the math section (needed a 31), to place into college calculus.
The other 3 sections I bs’d it.

English: 23 (I am currently questioning whether I know english).
Reading: 31
Science: 32
Math: 35.

Got what I wanted. I’m already into the college I want. Plus I am a hispanic and got 1400+ SAT. I’m happy.

And en guarde, I’d say your SAT looks better.
1350+ is something to be proud of

Actually, nvm. I’m not blaming myself for english. I’m going to play the race card.
URM FTW!

Thank you guys!
I guess I’ll just send both come fall. ![]()
Congrats on reaching your math score! I wish I had your mad math skills!

“Puggly: Did you corroborate your answers with the thread that was made?”

No I didn’t… I guess I’m just overly-confident in my English skills.

I was also confident in my english skills (I scored a 35 & 36 the last two times I took the ACT) but now after seeing everyone’s scores I’m not sure how well I did. My scores are delayed because I took it standby, but so far things sort of look in my favor… -1 is a 36 in math and science. :)

Oh and do you remember what you put for the first question, where it had the collection of poems? Did you put one comma or two? And also what did you put for shimmering colored lights? It’s ok if you don’t recall these questions- its been a while since we took the test.

I got a 30 in math; how many questions did I most likely miss?

I would probably say 6 or 7… my friend who normally does very well in math got a 32, so it must have been harsh after the -1 = 36.

Ya I bet. I’m way disappointed with it as I got a 33 on my last Math practice test. But oh well…

It’s possible that the person was mistaken about the -1 = 36 curve for math…

:)
Score increase!!! 32 composite. Everything improved EXCEPT english…which has always been my easiest section. I left the test center sobbing. I’m really happy!! 33 science, 34 reading, 30 math…darn english!! That makes my super score a 33
Yaaaay last test date is September. 34 is now my target score!

I’m totally happy with my score. I’m a rising junior and this was my first time taking the test. I took it with no prep and now I know what I need to improve on (Math and Science).

Composite:30
English:35
Math:25
Reading:34
Science:25

What would you guys suggest I do to improve my math and science scores?

uh oh so i got a 26 composite on my first time on the ACT and a 1590 on the SAT and i am african american, should i retake?

jmassieh- depends where you plan on applying to.

I always feel stupid on this site! Haha. 24 ACT, is that good? I’m going to retake, though. First time on ACT.

so far my main is UCSB just cause im from Cali haha
