June 2010 Critical Reading

yea i remember that

@concertpianist, yes, thats what I got, anyone else want to confirm?

@simo14: So is the answer choice “to deep her knowledge of her family’s past” for the “What she thinks the purpose of the trip is” question?

what were other answer choices for the “increase affection”?

@jolly
Yes.

@concertpianist
Yes I had that as well. Wooo another answer!

@iceui2: she thinks the purpose is to increase affection

@ice: I believe it was to increase like affection with her family or something, not to learn of family’s past.

i also think for the father horse one it was because of her “inability to empathize with her father”

@concert pianist: that’s exactly what i got.

now we’re done with austria.

i think the other question about the austrian girl was

“what was the purpose of the passage” -> explains the girl’s views on her family

or something along those lines??

wait so “to deepen her understanding of family’s past” was an answer choice for the “increase affection” question?

interesting… it looks like i posted before you

^ I have the same question as jollybjolly

@jolly and iceui2
Yes they were two answer choices to the same question. I had “to increase affection”

@jolly: No lol, I think to “increase her affection of her family” was the answer to why she was meant to go there or something

@concert: yes i got that too.

and i still think the horse dad one is because of her inability to empathize, anyone want to confirm?

Yes I remember #13 being the Main Idea question. So basically there were 3 questions about why the girl is going to Austria?!?! (explain her views on her family, learn more about her non-English relatives, increase affection)

@aryus - yes it is the inability to empathize. It’s already on the list.

@ice: I thought so, but the list says: ““loved father like she loved a horse” = elaborate on previous sentence”, so what’s going on?

Total 63/67 - FOUR MORE! :D
