***June 2010 Math I Thread***

printlin, i think it was the one with rad 15/4?

there better be a curve on this thing lol

i wish. The curve is non existent. From the Kaplan and Sparknote score tables, a raw score of 49 automatically dropped you to a 790.

I know that but I think this test has been significantly more difficult than previous 1cs. Hopefully the level of difficult will be taken into consideration.

i have the released version of the 2002 test and there seemed to be a better curve. click on the link to view the table. hopefully there will be a similar curve.

How hard was that test?

about the same

Wow if we get that curve that would be amazing. Lets pray for it.

I dont know how I will make it 2 weeks without finding out my scores. dammmit collegeboarddddddd

I felt good about the test, but a lot of the answers people are throwing around here sound unfamiliar to me. So…we’ll see.

I’m not a math kid, I still have no idea why I took this test. Hopefully if I embarrass myself on June 24th I’ll ace Lit, USH and Chem next year and forget this ever happened.

Oh, and I 100% forgot what fixed price and variable price were. So that was the only one I left blank.

The math 1 test curve in the official college board subject test book is the same as that one from the link (February '02) so it shows that the curve CAN be more generous than we think. Can Somebody PLEASE answer my question about the last 15 questions? I ran out of time so I put B for all of them (I have a mental thing, I can’t omit), does anyone remember if they put a lot of B’s in the last 15 questions?

You’d probably have been significantly better off leaving them blank.

It was a gamble that worked on every practice test, I basically break even if I get 3 out of those 15, and anything above that is just a plus. It raised my score by at least 30 points on all three of the practice tests I took, so I thought it was a smart gamble, I just want to know if anyone thinks there were a lot of B’s in those 15.

metsrule50, its (10,5). I’m pretty sure.

mabsjenbu123:

A = 100 shirts costing $1 each. —> Total selling price (as I’m also including 10% profit) = $110
B = 200 shirts costing $1 each. —> Total S.P. = x

For 15% profit :

(15/100)*300 = $45

(x+110)*100/300 = 45
x = 235

Hence $235 is the amount they sold 200 shirts for. Now, profit is (235-200) = $35

35 dollars is 17.5% of 200.

how does anyone know that its 10,5
9,5 made more sense since it was such a small distance from 8
what mathematical evidence do u have?

greentea, the top point was (12, 10) because the given midpoint was (6, 5). then the midpoint from (12, 10) to (8, 0)(also given) is (10, 5)

it is 17.5

nahh man it was just x, im 100% sure

does anyone know what the last one was, i actually did the math and i got 1/27…
