June 2010 Math

This is because the other thread turned all international. Let's discuss!

So I thought the math, on the whole, wasn't that bad (and I usually suck at SAT math). I probably got a few wrong, omitted one or two, and the questions definitely weren't as hard as the BB math questions.

Your thoughts?

so guys the other math thread is for internationals soo I created one for us in America. Let us discuss answers after the embargo is lifted

I’m pretty certain I got an 800. I’ll be at least irate if I didn’t because I checked so much and wanted an 800 M so badly.

^When will that be. I really want to know if I guessed the g(x)=f(x-1)… question right; so far only one I think I got wrong, and I omitted 1.

When does the embargo lift? I feel like it should have already…?

^I suppose once the West Coast is done? Are they done yet?

And I think I got a 700+, hopefully. Which is what I wanted anyway.

I guessed that too! I will post here when the embargo is lifted.

^ The question you’re talking about was deceivingly easy. It took me a while but when I finally got it was like a OH DUH moment.

NVM didn’t know about the embargo

For the 10th time, do not discuss answers until the embargo is lifted. Should be around 2:15 PM eastern time (historically).

I’m not the typical CC’er here, I got around 600-620 on practice tests, and I think I did better on this math section than I did on the practice tests so I’m happy.
Although there was a few that definitely confused me.

What did you think of Math overall? I though it was fair: not too hard, not too easy.

Based on my preparation and effort I expect a 740 +/- 20 on the math. A few on the math, mostly graphs got me.

This was the first time (granted, I’ve only taken the SAT twice including today) that I knew how to do all of the questions. Whether that’s a result of taking Calc, which is significantly harder but did build some problem solving skills, or the ease of the test, I’m not sure.

Some of the questions required you to think, but overall, I don’t think they were that bad.

800 unless I made stupid mistakes.

Which I probably did… Because I always do. It’s inevitable.

Stupid fallible brain.

what the hell is an embargo?

Math was same as May right? The only section I had trouble with due to time was #18 and #20 on the 20 question Math, hopefully my two last minute random guesses are miraculously right.

Alright, I guess we can stop using this thread because even though I made this thread BEFORE the other one was made, the other one proved to be more popular…?

eramano333: we can’t talk about specifics until everyone’s taken the test.

i completely agree with marjerina, the graph one was way tooo easy if you “saw” it
