June 2013 SAT II US History

I put Alexander Hamilton for the bank for the strict constitutionalist

What did you guys put for the question that asked about political machines? The question asked which statement was true regarding them, and choice E said something along the lines of “they operated mostly outside of cities”. That confused me, because if they meant “outside” as in “waiting right outside to snag unsuspecting immigrants” then that would probably be the best answer, but if they meant “outside” as in “anywhere other than cities”, then obviously it would be wrong. I’m considering reporting that question for ambiguity. It was the wording and not the content that confused me.

@mamba01 yes, the one was the Know-Nothing party, and yes, the colony was Maryland. I just remember that because ‘Mary’ is a Catholic thing, y’know. As for the Indian tribes, I have no idea.

And the strict constructionist question was definitely Jackson, not Hamilton.

Yes it was Cherokee nation, and for the political machines I put that it was a centralized organization.

Agreed with fruitsmoothie’s response to mamba.

Political machines = centralized organization.

Military-industrial complex was the answer to the 1945-1970 economy question.

Wasn’t there Stagflation?

Yeah I believe there was stagflation but I’m not sure

Political machines meant the political corruption in New York

staglflation was after Vietnam, during the Reagan admin., I think. I’m pretty sure the 1945- 1970 was the military industrial complex

What was the answer to the question where it was about the status of cities toward the end of nineteenth century, an except question? The answers were that reformers wanted better sanitation…I put down that the federal government did not support urban poverty reform.

It was the sanitation one

what was the except question about the growth of unions before 1900? I forget the choices

Something with passing special union laws^^^

What’s the curve going to be? Anyone want to speculate?

Personally, the test was way easier than I thought it was. But then again I took APUSH and reading AMSCO helped a ton. Hopefully the curve will be generous enough

Will the curve be 11 omitted = 800? That is what the collegeboard book for SAT Subject Tests says.

Three more days!
