I was finally able to finish a reading test within the time limit. Need to improve speed a bit more so I truly have time to refer back to the passages. The questions I miss are usually from not looking through the text good enough.
I’m using PR 1296 and the red book for practice tests. I have Barron’s but I don’t like it too much. Would it be worth it to retake some in the red book? I want to do past ACT tests but I can’t print them out and it seems a bit harder to take the tests just from looking at it online. I need a copy of it on paper.
i wouldn’t retake them. you’d probably score a lot higher than you normally would because you probably remember some even slightly.
Does anyone know of any current released ACT tests available. Not the Red Book?
Is PR harder than the real test?
Guys, checking in here, if you live near a Barnes and Noble, then it ain’t too late.
I went from a 30 to a 32 with “Cracking the ACT 2015” by the Princeton Review. It isn’t short, but it works.
I just used it for the math section, went from a 26 to a 30 math (I also used Khan Academy, but less frequently). I hope for a 33 or, since most my choices superscore, just a higher math grade using the very same method. XD
BEST OF LUCK TO ALL OF YOU!
@Gatortristan if you still have those 20 ACT practice tests, can you pm them to me :)))
So this is the week before the ACT on Saturday… What are you guys going to do for the last 5 days before the ACT test? Also, I don’t know if I should be working on my best sections (English and Math) or my worst sections (Reading and Science) for the last week.
@Gatortristan Do you have practice tests?
Do you guys know if the science on this ACT will have fewer passages with only six or seven questions like the April ACT?
unfortunately, yeah :-(. one data representation, four research summary, and one conflicting view points. im not sure on number of questions per passage though @asquared2016
@Gatortristan Can I have those practice tests too?
And what should I expect from science? Will it be any different from the red book
Any advice for improving on my math and reading scores? They’re suffering man. I’m scoring 26-30 on science and 29-34 on English but my Reading and math just can’t get above a 24.
wooooow I JUST got my test release
Guys i highly recommend only taking past test. not tests from books
Could someone provide an explanation for this math question?
Barb is going to cover a rectangular area 8 feet by 10 feet with rectangular paving blocks that are 4 inches by 8 inches by 2 inches to make a flat patio. What is the minimum number of paving blocks she will need if all the paving blocks will face the same direction? She will not cut any of the blocks.
A. 80
B. 360
C. 601
D. 960
E. 1213
answer is B.) 360 but im having trouble with the reasoning and also visualizing it.
how do i know when to put the comma?
Snowflakes form from tiny water droplets, following a blah blah blah
or
Snowflakes form from tine, water droplets, following a specific blah blah blah…
You would put one before following because “following blah blah blah” is a participial phrase. If you wrote “tiny, water droplets” that is the same thing as saying tiny and waterdroplets, which does not make sense.
I’m very stressed out because the first time I took the ACT (in March) I took it cold and got a 30, but I haven’t been studying nearly as much as I should have to reach my goal of a 33+. How much do scores increase on average the second time one takes the ACT, and what type of studying could I do in the next few days to optimize my score (i.e. look at past tests, take online practices, study multiple choice tips, etc.)?
