1510 is a great score. I would not worry about the essay.
I couldn’t find the essay’s percentile. D has 1550 and essay of 7/7/7 or 21.
I got 800 Math 2 and 740 Physics. Last year I got 790 World History. Should I try retaking the Physics in Oct. before sending to colleges early decision etc. or should I just send the 790 World and 800 Math 2. I just feel like 800 Math 2 doesn’t look as good considering an 800 is still 81 percentile. Do colleges see all your SAT II scores?
I got a 1540, 6/5/6 for writing. That curve must’ve been been really nice!
@krauser126 , It depends in your intended major. If you are going for STEM, a lot of school requires two math/science tests. I think 740 is good enough, but that is just me.
Some schools, e.g, Georgetown, require all your subject tests.
@SincererLove Im looking to go into medical science. Applying Johns Hopkins, UPenn, Columbia, Harvard, and a few others. Doesn’t a 740 look bad in these top schools considering its 68th percentile?
Is everyone else’s dashboard showing June 3rd instead of June 4th as well? I’m sure it’s nothing, but I was just wondering…
@krauser126 , D has a cringe-worthy 760 on Math II from freshman year. I think that is 50 in percentile. Instead of retaking, she had taken Chem and Bio as she had those APs and got 800s. I would think Chem or Bio also fit with your intended major well?
@legalpad12 , I thought the curve is harsh. D missed 5 in reading and got 35!
1560 with essay scores of 8/4/7. Anyone else see such big differences between subscores on the essay? Also really wish CB had percentiles for the essay.
@SincererLove Ignore my last comment on the curve; I looked at my subscores a little more carefully. I do agree, the curve was harsh. I missed 1 in reading and got a 39/40. Considering how weird the reading section was, the curve was harsh.
My score went down (low 1400) but my essay score was perfect. Will the essay carry any weight in a college application? If I take the ACT and have score choice, should I submit the SAT with essay as well?
@SincererLove Yea but I doubt I will have the time to study for either chem or bio.
Got a 1420!
700 reading and English
720 math
7/7/7 essay
Really happy with this score, but for USC and NYU I want to get it into 1500+. I think I can do it! This was my first time taking the new SAT with minimal practice (but I’ve taken the ACT and the old SAT a few times).
i got a 1420 as well! 690 reading and english 730 math. I got 13 wrong on reading 1 on grammer and 5 on math. Any reading tips are wanted ^:)^
`1440 :(( i dont think thats good enough for any schools i wanna apply to :((
1430 – good enough for National Merit? I was taking it as a part of the alternate entry program, as my PSAT scores were disqualified due to complications. I’m thinking this will be too low to make the cut.
@tootiredtowink wow! I only got 6 wrong on reading and 3 wrong on grammar and I got a 700! Weird that there’s only a 10 point difference…
@thefloridavegan what?! thats crazy
S has a 1550 with 21 on the essay. 800 in R/W and 750 M. 4 wrong in Math.
@swhwhf , we are exactly opposite in scores, with 800 on math, 750 R/W. She also did better in analysis on science than the analysis on history. 5 wrong on reading dropped reading to 700!! Same essay score. This is her first and only sitting for SAT, and no ACT. What does the concordance table convert your S score too? I wonder if their converted scores are different, same as SI calculation. Hers convert to to 2280.
