I think it said the interest was compounded monthly at 3% nominal annual rate but whatever we will not know what it said until at least a week.
so was the right answer for the end behavior as x -> -3 f(x) approaches negative infinity and as x -> positive infinity f(x) approaches positive infinity?
@Aufbau123 Yes
Yes I believe so @Aufbau123.
Wanna hear something funny?
I was able to convince my proctor that I had a testing accommodation which allows me to use a fidget spinner since I said I have an anxiety disorder. I spun that thing like crazy
What did u guys get for the interval short answer
.35 to .66
If I got the .66 right do you think I would get partial credit
yes
i got .35 to .66 as well
Damn that sucks I had that but then I changed it cuz i thought it had to be higher than .5 so I put like .5 to .66
If you showed correct work for the .66 and just made a conceptual error for the .35 then you will probably only lose 1 point. However, it really depends on exactly what you wrote and you could lose either 1 or 2.
What was the period of the graph for the short answer
What’s #23 where it was like a big fraction telling you to write it in another way? I simplified to get choice 2 and then checked in my calculator to get choice 4…
2/3
Does anyone have the key yet or solutions ?
@lekan12 that question was answer choice 4:
(-3x^-1)+x^2 I believe it was. When you factored the top, it became (-3x+1)(x+2) and the bottom became x^2(x+2). The x+2 cancel out, and using exponent rules you get choice 4
Yeah it was choice 4. I just assigned x a value and saw which was was equivalent
For the one where it said final amount of money if she invested 100 and there was a 3% rate, it was the 1.0025 rate with geometric series because there was the 3% rate so you’d divide by 12 to get the compounded rate AND the question stated that she put in 100 EVERY month
For the extraneous solution, I really thought it could only be 2 or 7/2 and then since 2 can’t work, 7/2 can, 2=extra, i know x can’t be = to 0 but i didn’t know it was also part of the extraneous solution…like what? so the answer really is 2&0?
The answer to the question with siblings and jogging was Both Siblings than One Sibling because it was conditional probability meaning that there were different denominators so Both was .22 and One was .18
I think it was only x=2 as extraneous because x=0 is a value where it is undefined but is not a solution anyways.
