June 2017 Chemistry Regents

and then there was another question about what causes the random motion of gases or something was that thermal?

Yes

It was thermal

Word and one of the multiple choice answers was electrolysis?

Yes, it was the multiple choice question asking about which process needs a source of energy to result in a nonspontaneous reaction.

I found this to be the easiest of the three regents I took, feel free to consult me for any questions you have.

I made dumb mistakes as always

It has to be that the H+ and OH- ratios are the same, that is how neutralization occurs (think about it, if there was more of one or the other, the result would not be a salt and water, and would not have neutral charge).

@Fibbonachi10 for the thermal change question was it 98-22? I’m pretty sure I got it wrong.

Do you mean the one where they were asking for the thermal energy of water?

Yeah @Fibbonachi10

@Fibbonachi10 the short answer that was asking for the numerical setup for the thermal change when the test tube with the solution was put in water

That was mass x specific heat capacity x change in temperature

Were they asking for the amount or did they want to know sign for the thermal energy one??

amount

So is it okay that I forgot the negative or will i get points off

You may lose points, but you never directly had to state that the sign was negative, you could express that in the equation

Ok thanks

No problem

do you guys remember the question 83, where they asked how how the acetic acid is a good electric current in terms of particle? or something like that…
what’s the ans?
