Hey everyone! Who else is taking the Physics SAT Subject test? What physics courses have you taken before taking it?
I’ve only taken AP physics 1, this school year, so I’ve done a lot of studying of other topics. But I just went through the questions offered on college board and got most of them right. Does anyone know how close these are to the real thing?
Also, what study books are you using? I’m using princeton review and have gone through most of it. I’m also using some Khan Academy videos.
Feel free to discuss the test below.
Bump–I can’t be the only one taking this!
Bumping this!! Anyone else?
Oh yeah update! I took both Princeton review practice tests and got 800 on them. I feel like I’m in good shape, but fingers crossed!!
I don’t know anything about optics and stuff. Kind of screwed… Now I regret signing up for it…
ahhhh today’s the day good luck guys!
Good luck to everyone else!!
What do you guys think the curve will be?
Has it not always been >=60 raw score is 800?
I know I got 2 wrong (didn’t answer 1, realized one was wrong afterwards haha) and probably got a couple more wrong, but I’m pretty certain I got an 800. Glad to have that over with!
@coffeeaddicted Wow that’s great! I did AP Physics 1 this year plus extra prep and I literally think I got like 20 wrong
@APcredit yeah OMG there was so much extra beyond physics 1 and even beyond physics 2 but I crammed super hard because I know I want to major in physics and I think I got a 4 on the AP exam so I have to make up for it haha. I’m also happy because now I know most of the physics 2 concepts, and now I’m prepared for my astrophysics camp I’m going to this summer
Crazy hard. Nothing like practice tests
Anyone have guesses on the curve?
i thought it was an easy test…
i was pretty disappointed with the question writing – a couple of the questions were just straight up based on knowing the equation, not even using them in any productive way, just KNOWING them.
I know that they have to churn out a test every month, but that seriously disgusted me
Hello all,
I just took the SAT Physics subject test this morning and I think I did terribly on it. I thought I was going to do somewhat well (low 700s-mid 700s) but now that the test is over, it would be a miracle if I even got a 650! I think I omitted about 15-20 questions and probably got some wrong of those I managed to answer.
I was ready to tackle some of the optics, thermal, and wave stuff that aren’t in the AP Physics 1 curriculum, but, boy, the things on today’s test sure looked like alien language to me. And the question about that one principle toward the end got me.
So how do you guys do it? What prep material do you use? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Wasn’t as bad as I expected … omitted about 3 and probably got about 8-10 wrong. Hoping for high 700s or even 800 if curve is lenient.
btw WHY the moon rotation question??
