June 9th... "Test 5" ?!

Ok, so I took the ACT yesterday and there was a 5th section with really easy questions on it... do any of you guys know what that was all about?

-Blake

The Survey Questions?

uh......wth?

are you talking about the survey q's?

Wow..Amnesia beat me, but we posted at the same time....

No, there were no survey questions this time... the other times i had taken it there were questions like "did you study online, and did your parents go to college" .. this time it was 30 questions, and I had an addition english passage about a guy that became famous in panama.

lol are you sure it was the ACT?

I really don't know what to tell you. Maybe they'll give you a 36 for doing an extra section. Wouldn't that be nice? :)

I'm pretty sure it was the ACT :P i'm not that stupid... i was just confused, we had 20 minutes for 30 questions, and it was an additional english passage.

My daughter had an extra English section at the end of the test yesterday. @ 20 minutes - easy - but she was not thrilled to have it as she was already tired! Maybe it depends what test center or State you are in.

It might be for testing out new questions that they might use in the future, like the non-graded section in the SAT's... who knows...

Yes she said it would not count as part of the score. So probably and experimental section like they have in the SAT.

During the june tests, sometimes ACT has an extra fifth section that doesn't count toward your score. I didn't take it because I had the Writing test, but those who didn't take writing had to. It doesn't count toward your score and you know which one it is, so my friend didn't even bother.

I took it without the writing, and I didn't have to take the 5th section, only the survey that everyone else took.

I agree with everyone that said it was an experimental section, it sound like they picked random centers or states to do the extra stuff.

We took it with writing, and didn't have to take that (even though it was in the test booklet- I was flipping through those pages confused towards the end of the Science section, wondering what they were.) We didn't take survey questions, either.

eh i didn't even bother- just filled in random bubbles, had 19 minutes to spare, and kids were like WTH?! done already?!. lol

I also had this section. I looked at it and I was like *** there's 5 sections. Then our proctor just told us to do the essay.

This one guy I ran track with and went to the state meet with told the person in charge, "I'm not going to take this part." and the proctor just got confused. It was funny you had to be there.
