I honestly don't remember much of the test, except that it was quite challenging (more so than the Red Book of official ACT tests). How do you all think each section will be curved? List your opinions and any numbers, if you wish.

English - Pretty standard I suppose. These sections never seem too difficult.
Generous: 36, 35, 35, 34, 33, 32, 31, 30, 29
Harsh: 36, 35, 34, 33, 32, 31, 30, 29, 28, 27

Math - So many tedious and drawn out questions…
Generous: 36, 36, 35, 34, 34, 33, 32, 31, 30
Harsh: 36, 35, 34, 33, 33, 32, 31, 30, 29, 28

Reading - Apparently, the science one was difficult, but I thought it was easy.
Generous: 36, 36, 36, 35, 34, 32, 31, 30, 29, 28, 26
Harsh: 36, 35, 34, 32, 31, 30, 29, 28, 26, 25, 24, 23

Science - Wow… probably the hardest science I have EVER taken.
Generous: 36, 36, 35, 34, 33, 32, 31, 30, 28, 27, 26, 24
Harsh: 36, 34, 33, 32, 31, 29, 28, 27, 26, 25, 25, 23, 23

Well said… Math got very challenging at the end, and I found science to be quite difficult overall.

Can you explain this curve to me please? I dont exactly understand how it works

^^^

What about curves don’t you understand? My curve speculation or just what a curve in general is? I guess I’ll just answer both, in case.

A curve is something that test makers use to accommodate for the difficulty of a test. For example, if the test was extremely difficult, missing 1 question might not affect you as much than if the test was really easy.

My curve is based off of how many you missed. So 36, 35, 35, 34, etc… would be the score for -0, -1, -2, -3, etc…

english: pretty average, seemed kind of easy actually. probably a normal curve

math: really difficult compared to other tests, a lot of the problems at the end were pretty time consuming. when i took practice tests, i usually finished math with around 10-15 minutes to spare. on this one i actually ran out of time and had to guess on the last question. i think -1 will be a 36

reading: the prose passage about the law enforcement guy and the penguin passage i thought were easy. the jazz one was alright, and the asteroid one was hard. i think it will be an average curve though

science: i found all of the passages easy, except for the physics one, which was really hard. there was one passage with a weird chart that was hard to interpret at first, and it took me a couple minutes to actually understand it. i would have really preferred a “traditional” fighting scientist passage instead of that physics one, i think there will be a generous curve, maybe -1=36, -2=35, and so on

This is I found really weird about this ACT ._. Everyone had this general consensus, but I actually found the law enforcement one hard and the asteroid one easy… Hopefully I didn’t just completely bomb this section…

Any solid information about the curve?

-1 science was a 36, and I think -2 math was 35 and -1 writing was 35.

Yeah, -1 was 36 for science

-1 for math was 36

I was -1 for math and got 35…

-1 for English was definitely a 35.
-1 for Math was a 36.
-1 for Science was a 36.
I have no idea what reading is though. -1=35?

DD scored 18, 18 on reading for a 35. Is that correct?

bump:

reading: 18, 18 for a 35?

did anyone else get a score like this?

Yeah. It’s just the way that the ACT “curves”, per say.
If the overall reading curve was -1=35, but one of the subscores was a -1=18, then a 18, 18, 35 would be possible.
