June ACT English Section

For the “of course” one, it was a transition. The passage was talking about putting people on horses in wierd positions and then the following sentence was like “Of course, trainers ensure their safety”. Well, “of course” was the right answer but the sentence in the actual passage said some other random transition.

^ i’m not sure I remember this question, sorry :/

Well it looks like I can expect at least -1 then, though none of these explanations are particularly convincing.

Oh well, best not to worry about it now!

Just to add, I remember putting “Of course.”

Was one of the answer choices for the “of course” one, “thus” or something like that. And the transition one, was it sentence 5?

I said “Of course” as well…and for that one with the different horse riding positions, I ultimately chose the one that listed all the different positions. I felt that just saying “various positions” or whatever was too vague.

One of the first questions on the passage about colorblindness was something about covering the worn label. Do you remember what the answer was? One choice was “,ask” and another was “, and ask”.

@howgoesit12 - I’m pretty sure it was “and ask,” because the bit before it was “, information that was surrounded by commas because it was not necessary,”

For the one about the riding positions, I chose the answer that listed all of them, more or less because when I read the passage and the sentence ended vaguely, it just didn’t make sense to me.

Does anyone remember the wording of the covering/ask question?

What about this question in the colorblind passage about where to put sentence 1? The sentence was something like “this is not the case, however” answers: where it is now, after sentence 2, etc… What did you guys put? For some reason I was getting tripped up on that one

does anyone remember the question on the horseback riding question and it was the paragraph right after they mentioned the physical therapy balls and how they didn’t work. It said something like However, horseback riding helps people reach the position, which could not be reached with other therapy tools.

I know one of the answers had to do with the therapists assistance…I forget the rest.

AHH sorry if this is vague haha :)

^ I was meaning to ask about that question too! That’s the answer I put though!

I’m not sure if it was asked already, but that one question which I think was in the mural one…i think the 2 answers I was confused on were ,a large mural, or just a large mural without the commas…I’m pretty sure that was a question…

Can anyone project for me what -1, -2, or -3 would be on this test?

One was like “The mural on the walls of the channel …something blah blah blah”

I wasn’t sure whether commas should surround “on the walls of the channel”. I answered whichever one had no commas though (NO CHANGE?).

Was the statement that athletes continue to draw media attention extraneous? I put that it was not important that it mentioned sports for the radio broadcast.

^^^ That’s what I put.

Was teeny-tiny or reduced-sized unacceptable?

teeny-tiny was unacceptable…just sounds wrong!

Dang it… me and my over-thinking. There’s -1.
