Is a 34.75 a 35 or a 34?

Obey correct rounding rules.

Okay, good! I was worried that the ACT was anal about rounding :P

English: 34-36
Math: 22-25
Reading: 34-36

As you can see, math is not my strong point.

pessimistic: 29-30

M: 35
R: 29
S: 30
31.5! haha

optimistic: 33-34

Does anyone out there think it possible to have the following curve/score chart?

ENG, (none)
MATH, (+1)
CR, (+2)
SCI, (+1)

I do 10char

I do as well, and it doesn’t seem too lenient…so definitely feasible.

what does this equal?
M: -0
E: -2-4
R: -4-5
S: -2-3

That does seem plausible.

^on my predicted scale…

M: 36
E: 35-33
R: 34-33
S: 35-34

For an average composite of 34.5, which ACT would round up.

^I hope your scale is not too inflated. I dont want to get my hopes up.

After some contention, I think I’m down to a 34.5 if something goes wrong. I would be ecstatic with that score!

I actually think the curves will be harsh for all section. Or at least normal, but definitely not lenient.

I don’t know if the scale is too inflated, honestly. It’s not too lenient at all. Comparatively speaking, it seems fairly accurate and average.

I wouldn’t be worried about the scale. I would be worried about accounting for questions that you don’t know if you got right or not. There are always questions that we forget about and even questions that we just make careless errors on. I know that I will have some.

I think it best to calculate our scores as they should be–without a scale. Anything else is a gift we cannot expect.

Do you guys think 7 wrong in math could be a 30?

The math, I thought the last 10-15 questions were kind of difficult (I only had 5 mins left because I spent most of my time on the cylinder one). I know I made stupid mistakes like the (-a,b), because I forgot that on the right side of the graphs x is positive (dammit)! And I made 2 other little mistakes so I probably missed about 12. That being said, I hope (trying to be realistic at the same time) I got a:

Math: 28-29------- Can only miss a max of 14??
Reading: 25-26 ------ Can only miss a max of 13?? (worst subject… I had 5 mins left to read the last passage so I just went straight to the questions and skimmed through the passage).
Science: 28-29-30??-------- Only miss a max of 8-9?? (So far I missed 1).
English: 28-29--------- Not sure, probably a max of 15?? and an 11 essay (Hoping the essay bumped me up).

Composite: 28-29 I HOPE!!!

Prediction please!
