damn that’s pretty good improvement, what kind of prep did you do?

Took a prep class, slept through the parts where they give you “tips” and took all the practice tests they provided. My parents forced me to take the class, and I didn’t think it would help any. If you can get yourself to do loads and loads of practice tests and read faster, you’ll improve.

First time taking it (using PR and Sparknotes online), and I got:
Composite- 32
English- 36
Math- 30 (ouch…)
Reading- 34
Science- 26 (ouch!!)

Science and Math usually kill my composite score on practice tests… What are some good review books for M/S, specifically? I know Barrons, Sparknotes, and Kaplan all make Math&Science ACT review books… does anyone know which one is the best?

Wow went from a 28 in April to a 25 :(

English: 29 (32)
Math: 24 (27)
Reading: 24 (28)
Science: 24 (24)

This sucks…

I hate English

This was my first time, no prep (I am more of an SAT person)

English 29
Math 35
Reading 30
Science 30

Composite 31

I took it for the second time and scored a 32 comp
English 34 (up 4)
Math 34 (up 3)
Reading 30 (same)
Science 29 (up 5)

Now my question is should i retake this one more time in sept or leave it as it is and focus on other aspects of my app. I am looking into applying to schools like Vandy, WUSTL, Brown, UPENN

should I be worried that my writing score isn’t up yet?

32-comp

english-32
math-35
reading-32
science-29

Planning to take the ACT 2-3 more times. Two more years left to go–I will never stop trying until that I know I can’t do better.

Don’t worry. It happens. My score dropped significantly once in the past. Don’t give up…

I got a 9 on the essay and 30 for English/Writing. I guess that’s okay. I got a 10 on my SAT essay, if that means anything :\ Next: waiting for AP english!

Composite: 30
Writing: 29
Math: 34
Reading: 28
Science: 28

sad face

Sad face? That’s good. It’s just that all the 35ers and 36ers are on this site–my self-esteem dropped to when I came here. But I don’t let it affect me. I’m happy with my score. :D

My scores are delayed.
is really annoyed

Composite: 31
English: 36
Reading: 34
Math: 27
Science: 25

(Second try at the ACT- I like it SO much much better than the SAT)

I’m really hoping to get into Rice University. The math and science scores concern me though. And I know they are WAY too low to even dream about MIT :-)

^lol

(10 char)

WOW

great job at bumping this thread back up that was finally gone…
