June English Thread

Yeah, sounds familiar

yup it was an awnser. It was possesive and they tried to trick you with it’s

I hope I did good on this section!!! I really don’t want to retake it!!!

alihaq717, that was the question where it went:

“it’s age”

one of the options was “its age” but I put no change… I’m not sure I’m right.

I hate myself right now. of course it was its.

I still disagree with the undermine one…as do many others on here.

@Joe- why would it be ‘it is age’? lol.

Yes 10char

What did you put wongtong?

It wasn’t contradictory. He said the silent mystery. Just because “some would claim to have heard it” doesnt mean he is contradicting himself because the general public concensus would be that the borealis is indeed silent.

^Yes I do.

Anticlimatic ending + weakened end of paragraph.

^i support the undermine. I even remember saying to myself that the sentence was contradictory. It definitely was relevant, just contradictory.

The other option didn’t say it was irrelevant, if that’s what you think.

^^^ Yeah, Im not sure why people think it said ‘irrelevant’

What was the exact wording wong?

Wait, I didn’t put the “contradictory” option, I picked the one that said “undermine”- the same choice that you had wongtong. Weakening the end of the paragraph means it undermined the main point of the essay and that it was anticlimactic.

Undermine =/ Contradictory

an event, period, or outcome that is strikingly less important or dramatic than expected

^that is the definition of an anticlimax according to websters.

just because some people heard it doesnt mean it’s true. It’s not proven. So if that sentence remained in the paragraph, it wouldn’t make it anticlimactic. It would just make it contradictory because i clearly remember the previous sentence saying how it’s never been heard before or something like that.

ok fine crap! the general consensus is anti climactic then?

I still go with the choice that says “undermine”

I think the undermined/anti climatic were the same choice.
