June Math IIC

the range problem was in fact 13, if you're talking about the box plot. the plot includes ALL the numbers, so it was the largest - the smallest number, which gave 13.

@student

I assume you meant cones. The answer is no. The ratio h=2r has to stay true to be considered similar. In your case h=r which obviously makes it not similar.

i think pr is just stupid and think its the same on both for some reason.
cause i just checked my book, and it says like the exact same thing.

anyway, i finished 45, guessed on three, and probably got 3 wrong.
so between a 39 and 41

what would a 35 be if i got that low

@student

That problem with the answer "1001" was with an arithmetic sequence and that was in fact the right answer.

no that range problem with 100 - what if i skipped it and bubbled incorrectly

how is 1001 the right answer? the difference is 4 so i put 1004 because it asked for the term after 1000

the first term was 5

I confirm 92, 1001, and 7/51.

gmac525, the answer is 1001. The first term was 5 and the second term 9. Your first term should be 8 instead of 5 to make the first term after 1000 1004.

5 + 4(n-1) was the rule. According to the question you could make an inequality: 1000 < 5 + 4(n-1). Now solve for n.

1000 < 5 + 4(n-1)
1000 < 1 + 4n
999 < 4n
249.75 < n

You can't have a 249.75th term in a sequence, you automatically assume it is the 250th. Plug that into the rule as n.

1000 < 5 + 4 (250 - 1)
1000 < 5 + 996
1000 < 1001

So, it is 1001.

I said Median for that one...
but I think it's wrong.

hockeydemon05, if you add more terms to the set, then median can be shifted in position.

range was easy..... max minus min on the box and whisker! And was the piza toppings 56?

92?? **** i hate permutations!!

pizza was 72... it's been discussed!

It was a combination type problem but whatever. Pizza was 92, not 72.

WAT??? what is it 72 or 92

i remember putting D.

Dam it wat is 3 wrong and 5 omit???

I confirm:

Range-100th observation question
92-pizza combination; 56+28+8=92
1001-for the arithmitic sequence
-3 for two lines making an area of two
x^2/9+x^2/25=1 for the sphere one just graph it parametrically
7/51 for the blue marble whatever, i got it wrong.
0.45 for median mean difference
sphere circle intersection i put point and circle; the intersection can only be another sphere if the diameters are the same?

Other random ones:

sinB = 1/4 with two triangles
2X-2Y (?)
(2.7)^2 = 7.29 for the f(0.4) one
for which of the following has an inverse i put the graph that looked like sin not sure though
first answer was -2 and 2
-0.7798 for some tangent one
log4 (4-x) = 0 i think i put (3,0) but im not sure
the year 1913 for some exponential one

I'll think of more later

Gah, this was my first test and I skipped 18 of them :(. Hopefully I got the rest right besides that stupid pizza question.

No. The pizza toppings was 92.

What do you think my score will be if I got 38/50?

what was the imaginary numbers one? the one with 'r' and 's' and the 8+6i. you had to find 'r'.
