June SAT I: Writing Discussion Thread

This is the official discussion thread for the writing section.

To help future takers, what is your estimated score, what books did you use and find helpful, and any tips for those taking in October?
For October takers, I personally like the Grammar section in Barron's SAT 2400. And you should already have the Blue Book [note: I scored 2340 in May]

And check out <a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-preparation/1154874-fast-sat-prep-guide-books-study-plans-more-2080-2340-10-days-v1.html%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-preparation/1154874-fast-sat-prep-guide-books-study-plans-more-2080-2340-10-days-v1.html</a></p>

And yeh, I know these discussion threads are early (but only by an hour or so) - I'm bored and hoping to help future takers :P

God, please give me an easy essay prompt and some easy sentence ID questions so I can get a 2100 and go to a good college <3.

Please no tricky idioms on the error section

when can we discuss SAT essay ?

Does anyone have an idea of which one a dummy was?

I had two experimental writing sections.
I"m pretty sure the second one was experimental, the one about terriers.

Yes neivivloh the 2nd was experimental, the real one was about “cats and purring …blah blah…”
Does anybody remember an A-E-E-A ((the very last section, questions 1-4)) ?

You mean section 10?
I got A for number 1…was alittle wary about that but yay
I got a lot of A’s and E’s… and last one I got B?

YES !! Alot of A’s and E’s !! Number 10 and 11 were A’s ((right?)) and the last one I made it B ! PLEASE SAY ‘B’ IS RIGHT !! If yes, I’m expecting a high score in Writing !

Well I’m not an answer key…
but yes a lot of A’s and E’s don’t really remember 10 and 11 sorry
and last one was B pretty sure because I confirmed with people afterwards

Did you get No Error for the 35 q section, for [___] before american civil war, it was before the chinese emperor one.

hey what was the answer for that stone henge one? and the lerad pencils one?

for the american civil war …well i cant remember exactly the right sentence sorry…but wait …can i ensure …how many “No Errors” have you got in the Error ID ? I got 3 i guess.
and please remind me of questions …the civil rights one

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-preparation/940758-consolidated-answers-june-2010-sat.html</a>

^ answers

I got 3 no errors as well, but probably not the same questions. And sorry that I forgot the civil right one as well.

Thanks a lot! am viewing them :)

That thread is for 2010…

Its not, just a typing error.

Why are the questions the same as the June 2010? Like everything is the same looking off that thread.

What I know is that I’ve solved TODAY an SAT test and the answers were so similar …do u mean to say that 2010 and 2011 tests were same?

Yeah, I was reading the June 2010 American test and it was basically word for word the international test today. Too bad I didn’t see that thread BEFORE taking the test…
