June SAT Math II Thread

Anyone get 18 for that 3(x-y) problem?

Wait so what exactly is the answer to the last problem about the 3 planes and 3 lines?

@h3x3h3x it was definately 6

@brazbloke. It’s f(2) becuase when you have f(x)=g(x)(x-2)+4, having f(2) makes (2-2)=0 so g(x) cancels and all you have is f(x)=r so r=f(2).

What was the question about tan(x)=k/2. What’s sin(x)?

Anyone remember the exact question?
The answer?

it was something like if tan(x)=k/2 then what is sinx.
so imagine a triangle is made by the x axis and the point (2,k). the width is 2 the height is k. hypotenuse is c^2=2^2+k^2 so c=root(k^2 + 4) and so sinx is k/root(k^2+4)

Lets post predicted score and raw answers right:

Predicted: 800
Raw: 48 or 49

for me its a max of 46.75 two omit 1 confirm wrong

Predicted: 800
Raw: 49 or 50

Don’t remember if I put f(x)=f(-x) or the other way around for the graph reflected across the y-axis. I wish the lit subject test were this easy. Alas…

^ shouldn’t it be the same regardless?

were f(x)=f(-x) and f(-x)=f(x) both answer choices?

Predicted: 750
Raw Score: 41 (5 omit + 3 wrong)
****… That won’t look good in my application… U of Chicago, Georgetown, Stanford, Princeton, JHU and Harvard will laugh at my scores =P Hopefully UC Berkeley and Michigan U are a bit more lenient hahahaha

I don’t specifically remember if they were separate choices, but I’m pretty sure I put down f(-x)=f(x), which contradicts what everyone else has written so far in this thread.

No, they won’t. That is a perfectly good score.

what would 2 omit, 5 wrong be?

greywolf, I’m 100% sure it is the same thing, because that’s what I put. I’m pretty sure there weren’t two opposite answer choices.

@GreyWolf: I thought that was the right answer…? Even functions (those symmetrical around y axis) do that (take cos x for example)

so which one was the vertical shift thing?

squigglysquid: probably around 730-750

Predicting: 790-800
Raw: 53-54
