It’s been years since I was in most of your shoes – of course this cycle is over (Congrats class of 2024!!!) but I have a lot of free time now and am feeling benevolent. I am in my third year at Stanford University, majoring in International Relations / Africana Studies. I’m from Los Angeles California and have had an amazing (with a couple of exceptions) time here. Some other quick facts:
- HS: Valedictorian, average test scores, middle class, essays were by the best part of my app. How do I know this? My admissions officer told me in a handwritten letter when I was accepted REA*. I had no "spike" and most people here don't have any "spike" either– That's definitely College Confidential nonsense... -At Stanford: Involved with rugby, DJing, finance clubs, cultural orgs, and just about anything you can think of – I'm an open book. -Future career plans?: Immediately after graduation i'll be going into finance, possibly municipal politics later on...I have many opinions on ~society~.
So without further ado, ask me ANYTHING! Seriously, I went through the trouble of figuring out the password to my old personal email for this! It’s just that I remember how stressed out I was when doing the whole college application thing and as someone on the other side of that, I want to help clear up any misconceptions/ provide any info about student life you may have. I’m also really sad about the Covid situation ruining admit weekend for the new admits…it was one of the reasons I was so stoked to get on campus in the fall. But, yeah– AMA.
*I will not answer any “how-to” questions on getting in terms of discussing stats/EC’s/essays and all of that here. This is because I offer essay revision and application coaching services. If you are seriously interested in purchasing these services, DM me and I’ll provide you my school email to discuss the details.
