Junior Boarding School

Hi! I’m a future boarder at a junior boarding school! I was wondering if anyone has any tips about dorm life, packing, time management, making friends, and just everything in general! I’m really excited and nervous!

Good luck wherever you’re going!! Just be really open minded, try new things and meet as many people as you can

hahah thanks! we have pretty similar usernames!

My kids went to JBS and so did I and we all agree that it was the best BS experience. I’m jealous… I don’t have many things I would want to do over but my experience at JBS tops the list. Not because I would want to do anything different or better… just to relive a very happy time that was very meaningful to me.

Enjoy every moment. The people you meet there will be lifelong friends. Choose friends who will bring out the best in you and remember that there is no such thing as a second introduction. The JBS network is amazing and you will cross paths with your friends and other alums at SS, college and throughout your life- even when you’re old like me.

When I dropped off K2 at college we ran into three alums from his JBS Class at Orientation … it’s a very small world so always put your best foot forward because you will see your JBS family again… not just at reunions twenty years from now !

JBS is very expensive and it’s an above and beyond expense for any family. It’s also a tremendous and very unique opportunity if you grab it with both hands . Your time there will go by very fast so make everyday count. Everything you learn while at JBS will stay with you for the rest of your life and it will serve you very well- that much I can promise you and my kids would tell you the same thing.

The only other thing that I can promise is this: When it’s time for you to graduate you won’t want to leave.

Don’t be nervous and have fun! You’ll be in very good hands. All the best and good luck!! Happy New Year.

Thank you so much! This makes me even more excited for the new school year! Have a good 2018!
