Junior Course Choices

Hi everybody, I’m just very concerned that my junior year class schedule is way too easy compared to my past classes. My freshman schedule contained 7 classes: AP world history, Hon. Eng., Honors Geometry, Honors Algebra 2, Hon. Bio, Spanish 2, and tennis. I was able to get straight As this entire year. In sophomore year, I took 7 classes which included, AP biology, AP Human Geography, Hon. Spanish 3, Dance, Hon. Pre Calculus, and Hon. Eng. I got a B in AP biology both semester and A’s in all other classes. My current weighted GPA is 4.67 and unweighted is 3.8-3.9. However, my junior year is only going to contain 6 classes: AP Chem., AP Lang., AP Calc. BC, AP Pysch., on-level history, and tennis. I’m not continuing my foreign which probably looks really bad, but I’m already studying Chinese on Saturdays at a Chinese School. I’ve been doing that for the past 10 years. Additionally, I will also be joinIng my studio dance group in junior year, so it may be more difficult to handle a lot of APs. However, I do feel like my future seems weak in rigor compared to past years, so should I change on level history to APUSH to continue the rigor? I might drop BC to AB though because the Calc BC teacher is known to be terrible. I’m currently unsure of my future major, but I feel as though I may consider med. Any advice would be great, thank you!

What do you think you will major in?

If you could, I would suggest to take Spanish 4… 4 years is better but 3 years would be okay.
I think what you are taking is fine…4 APs is very good.

I’ve considered majoring in something medically related, but I’m really not sure yet.

For going to med school, then you can major in anything you want as long as you take the med school pre=reqs such as Bio, Chem, Organic Chem, Physics, Calculus, etc.

For something like nursing, AP Chem and AP Bio are good.

I think your plans are absolutely fine. There’s plenty of academic rigor, and you are right that you still need to do well in those classes. If you wanted to finish a fourth year of Spanish, could you take an online class during the summer?
