Junior English B student taking AP English next year??

<p>Hi guys,
I'm a junior student who got a B in my English class last semester. I am deciding whether to take English AP next year, and I seriously need your advice!</p>

<p>I know I am not that strong in English, but I like challenging myself, and I really want to prepare myself before going into university. I am a bit worried that my chance of being accepted to Ivies will be reduced because of those rigorous English courses. Additionally, I am very well aware of those straight A student who would take all the rigorous courses and still manage to get outstanding marks, and of the fact that I will be a no match for those smarties. But I still have a feeling that somehow universities would figure out that I am a challenging student and give me a chance to enroll to their institutions. I don't want my grades to look horrible and not get accepted to any university, but I want to take this course. What should I do??</p>

<p>P.S - I got everything else A.. just this English 11 screwed me up </p>

<p>Just take it lol good grief a B isn’t gonna kill you
good lord what is this world coming to if a B is a bad thing.</p>

<p>I say go for it. A B really isn’t that bad, and if you’re an otherwise A student you can obviously handle challenges. Taking AP next year to be more prepared for college is an excellent idea!

<p>Personally, English would be considered my weakest link and I took AP English Lang. junior year. I believed it was not diffucult intellectually, but it was very time consuming. After taking it though I have become quite a better writer, and it was worth taking.</p>
